My brow lifts and a smirk tilts my lips. “So I just won’t make love to you. Ever. No problem.”

“That’s not… I mean, that’s not what this is about.”

I point my finger at Frank. “I’m going home. Today. Don’t think that you’re stopping me.”

Rolling his eyes, Franklin grunts and snaps at me. “Fine. But you’re still resting at home.”

Home. I have a home. This crazy man is my home now. Where he goes I go and I’ve been dying for the last week to go home and spend time with him. The whole time I’ve been cooped up in here, he’s done everything for me. If I want a foot rub, he does it. If I want a pop, he goes in search of it. Hell, I think he’d rob someone if I asked him. Not that I’d do that! I’m not a monster.

His firm lips twist as I sign the papers to get out of here. “I’ll go get the car and move it closer.”

“I can walk,” I snarl.

“Not when you’re with me.”

“We really need to talk about your attitude, mister,” I grumble under my breath.

The doctor nods his head, his mouth turned in so that he doesn’t laugh. “I can tell you’re gonna be well taken care of so I’ll withdraw my objection.”

“It was just a damn scratch. He did way worse than that with a fist.” Both men pale and Doctor Wright clears his throat.

“I wish you hadn’t told me that.”

I know the feeling. I wish I didn’t know some of the things that I do about Ash.

Franklin growls like a freaking tiger. “I’m gonna get the car,” he says roughly.

My eyes follow his big, strong body and I can’t believe that he’s mine. He loves me.

Doctor Wright nods his head. “Frank is a good guy.”

I smile wryly. “I know that.”

“He loves you. I never thought he’d let anyone in again.”

“You knew his partner.”

“I did. She was a sweet girl but had a big-ass blind spot when it came to her husband.”

Yeah, I know what that’s like.

He shakes his big body. “But he’s got you now.”

“He does.”

“Take care of yourself, Cassie. I’m gonna give you a list of do’s and don’t’s.”

I interrupt him. “Can we have sex?”

He flushes and rolls his eyes. “Why is that always the question everyone has no matter what their injury is?”

“Because people like sex, doc.”

Shaking his head, he groans. “Yes. You can have sex. Just make sure you watch the wound. And make sure that Franklin is careful.”

“Have you met Frank? I don’t think that’s gonna be a problem.” I think the problem is going to be getting him into the bedroom with me at all. I’m sure he thinks he’ll hurt me, the big dope.

But I need him. Need him to touch me, love me, prove that I’m not dreaming and this is real. He really loves me. This good man wants and needs me.
