And I believe him.

He collapses against me, and I hold him up as he comes down from his orgasm. I can feel him twitching inside of me, can feel his cock start to soften. I try to catch my breath, but my heart feels like it's going to explode.

I can't believe he told me he loved me.

Thisis what it's supposed to feel like--like your heart is so big it's going to pop out of your chest, like everything in you is flying.

I can't fucking believe he told me he loved me.

"Jenny," Finn whispers, his forehead on my shoulder. "God, that was..."

"Yeah," I whisper, running my fingers through his hair. "Yeah, it was..."

He glances up at me, his cheeks turning pink. "Shit...I'm sorry I said...you know..."

"It's okay," I say, staring into his eyes. "I love you too. I always have."

His lips curl into a smile, and he takes my face in his hands and kisses me softly. Now that we're sated--at least, for now--we can take a moment to figure out what this all means.

How we are together when we're not so horny.

Together.

"Can I take you to bed?" he asks. "It's still early...and I want to restart this day with you lying next to me."

I nod. "Yeah," I say. "Of course you can."

"We'll talk over coffee, okay?" he asks, taking me into his arms.

I rest my head against his chest and smile. "Sounds great."

Chapter twelve

Finn

Holyshit.

I can't stop looking at her.

I stare at my best friend as she sleeps beside me, and it's like our whole relationship is happening all at once. Playing together as kids, kissing each other for the first time because we wanted to see what it was like, going to homecoming, prom...

...losing each other as adults.

Finding out she was engaged.

And now she'shere.

Her dark eyes open slowly, her brow furrowing slightly as she takes in where we are. My bedroom is cast in grey light, rain pattering softly on the windowsill.

"What time is it?" she asks.

"I'm gonna be honest, I haven't looked at the clock," I murmur. "It's raining and you're in my bed...so as far as I'm concerned, it'll be morning forever."

She chuckles and rolls onto her stomach, propping herself up on her elbows. Her hair falls in waves around her face, framing her features perfectly. I never realized how much I missed her until now.

It's been years since I've seen her like this, so carefree and relaxed. For a moment, I forget about everything else and just bask in the feeling of having her close.

"You know," she says, turning her head to look at me. "I never thought we'd end up here."
