“You want me to pick him up?”

“Thank you,” Sully said and clapped Zero on the shoulder. “Mighty kind of you.”

Zero rolled his eyes and shook his head.

“I already cleared it with Len,” Sully said.

“Of course, you did.”

He released a deep sigh. That was not where he thought his day would go. The last thing he wanted was to get anywhere near a prison, but for the Kings? He’d do it.

Chapter Two

Jack

HE TOOK a deep breath, wondering how twenty feet could make such a difference in the air. In the way it smelled. The way it tasted. Twenty feet and the air tasted like freedom. He felt lighter than he had in fifteen months.

“Jack?”

He turned to see a guy with tousled blond hair leaning against a car. He was wearing a leather cut Jack knew all too well. The man’s eyes were trained on him as he headed over.

“Who the fuck are you?”

He’d expected his brother—his goddamned twin—to pick him up.

The asshole smirked at him and pushed away from the car, holding out a hand.

“I’m Zero.”

Jack ignored the hand. “Never heard of you.”

Which was fucked up because the man was wearing his club’s colors and that sure as shit wasn’t a prospect cut. He was a full-patch member.

He went to the side of the car and got into the passenger seat.

“Sully asked me to pick you up,” Zero said as he got behind the wheel. “Ash had a scan today he didn’t wanna miss. I think they’re finding out the sex or something.”

Jack tensed. His brother was having a fucking baby? What. The. Fuck?

“He’s… right. Sure.”

He wasn’t going to admit in front of Zero that his own fucking twin hadn’t told him he was having a kid.

“Where to?” Zero asked.

Jack swallowed hard, his hands clenching into fists.

“The clubhouse. I need to see King.”

He needed to find out if he was ever gonna get his cut back or if his life was completely ruined.

“Clubhouse it is,” Zero said and pulled out of the parking lot.

The whole drive, neither said a word. He caught Zero watching him out of the corner of his eye. Obviously, he only caught him because he too was sneaking glances at the guy.

He wasn’t sure what to think of him. He’d never heard of him before and knowing he had to have prospected and become full-patch within fifteen months didn’t sit well with him. Not after Maya. The double-crossing bitch.

But, alas, there he was wearing the cut Jack now had to fight to get back.
