He rose to his feet, pulling me into a brutal kiss that left me dizzy and reeling. As our tongues tangled together, I tasted myself on his lips — a heady combination that left me panting and desperate for more.

“Well, fuck.” His chest rumbled against mine. “I wasn’t expecting that. Are you okay?” his voice was laced with concern.

“That was fucking incredible,” I mumbled against his lips. “But what about you?”

I reached between us to palm the hard line of his cock through his jeans. His hips bucked up into the touch, a broken moan spilling from his lips.

“That was for you.” His lips grazed my jaw as he pulled my hand away from the bulge in his pants. “I wanted to make you feel good. I’m not going to let you do anything you’re not ready for.”

“Why are you always deciding what I’m ready for?” I huffed a laugh and kissed him again, softer this time. When we parted, I brushed my thumb over his lower lip, watching his eyes flutter closed at the touch.

“I’m claiming you, Parker,” Greyson whispered harshly against my lips, his grip on my waist tightening. “And there’s no going back.”

My heart thundered in my chest, equal parts of fear and excitement coursing through my veins. Despite the anxiety stemming from my past threatening to swallow me whole, I knew one thing for certain: I wanted — no, needed — Greyson to claim me, to make me his in every way possible.

I stepped back from him, giving him space, while he adjusted himself. “Do you want a beer? I haven’t had a chance to go shopping yet, so I don’t have much to offer. We’ll have to order something for dinner.”

“About dinner,” he looked up, “Talia invited me over. I was hoping you’d join me.”

“At Talia and Ryder’s house?”

“Yeah,” he confirmed.

A sliver of unease ran through me. “Won’t that look weird to them — if we come together?”

“Talia is my friend. She’s known about my feelings for you.” His lip turned down in a frown. “Unless you’re more comfortable keeping everything completely under wraps from our friends?”

I blew out a breath, not knowing what to say. Nervous energy vibrated in my veins.

He spread out his hands in a calm and soothing gesture. “There are few people I trust. Talia is one of them. And Ryder. But it’s up to you.”

“I don’t even know what we are doing,” I said, feeling lost in a whirl of emotions.

“We’re dating,” he retorted with a smirk as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“Dating?”

“Have you ever dated someone before?” he asked with genuine curiosity.

I shrugged and looked away. “Not really.” Never was the correct answer.

He laughed at my obvious discomfort. “Dating is getting to know each other. Taking things slowly. I’ll buy you a few dinners. We’ll watch a few movies together. I’ll try to cop a few cheap feels here and there. It’s a time-honored tradition.”

I forced myself to relax. “Ok, so we’re dating. I’ll go to dinner with you, but let’s just keep things cool.”

“Got it. Cool.” His eyes danced with laughter. “No grand announcements that we’re together. No PDA.”

I felt myself bristling at Greyson’s teasing. “Jesus.”

He came over and draped his arm around my shoulder. “Don’t worry, Parker. I’ve got your back.”

We arrived at Ryder and Talia’s house on the beach several hours later. Ryder answered the door and didn’t even blink at seeing me with Grey.

Ryder led us into the great room where Talia jumped up from the floor, where she was sitting next to Zoe, and greeted Greyson warmly, giving him a long hug. I was nervous, wondering if Talia was going to ask what I was doing with Greyson, but instead, she pulled out of Greyson’s arms and turned to me.

“Johnny Geronimo, I’m happy to see you.” Her bubbly personality immediately put me at ease. She stepped over and threw her arms around me.

I squeezed her in a hug, picking her up off her feet for a few seconds. “Natalia Rose, you’re looking good.”
