I was faintly surprised when Ghost got up from his seat and came around the table to sit next to me. I’d do anything for the guy — he was my brother — but we didn’t talk much. So yeah, I noticed when he went out of his way to talk to me.

“How’s it going, Bash?”

I threw back the rest of my drink. “I know you like this music, but it’s starting to fuck with my head.”

Ghost laughed. He actually laughed. I was stunned for a moment. Getting together with Remi and Grey had changed him. He was way happier. Thank God that didn’t mess up his performance ability because he was still a rock god on stage. Somehow, I’d taken on the grumpy role in the band when I’d always been such a laid-back partier.

He turned toward me. “How’s everything going with you?”

I gave him a quick rundown of my life and about Kody. Somehow, I started talking about my worries about balancing Kody with drumming for and touring with Ghost Parker. The alcohol was flowing through my veins and he was actually listening to me, so unguarded shit was coming out.

“Let’s set up a band meeting with Donovan when we get back. As a band, we’ve grown and we all have different needs now, but we can make this all work for us the way we need to. We’ve got tons of fucking leverage now; we just have to apply it.” He slapped my shoulder. “We’ll figure it out, man. We’re not going to lose you, Bash.”

I nodded. It felt good to hear him say that. So fucking good.

“How are you doing?” I gave him a sly smile. “How’s the never-ending threesome working out?”

“Good.”

I shot a look across the table at Grey. Remi was by his side, but she was talking with Lacey. Grey was watching us. “How about outside of the bedroom? It’s got to be tricky.”

“You sound jealous. You should try it.”

“Nah.” I shook my head.

His finger tapped the edge of his glass. “Do you miss your sandwich moves with Sid?”

Sid and I used to come at a woman from both sides, usually quite drunkenly when we were interested in some three-way action. Somewhere along the line, our bandmates started calling it the sandwich move.

“Fuck, no. He’s with Kay now. I can’t even think about sex and Sid in the same sentence anymore.” I thought about what I just said and then amended —“Not that we ever crossed swords. There was always a female between us.”

Fuck, my tongue was loose. Hopefully, I hadn’t offended him. “Not that there’d be anything wrong with that. If that was your thing.”

He took a long drink, watching me like he was deciding what to say. “My relationship isn’t just about sex. There are deeper feelings. Between all of us. It’s just an added bonus that the sex is great.”

I wasn’t quite sure how that all worked, and I wasn’t even sure I wanted to know. “You seem happy.”

“I am, in a way I never thought possible. The past was really weighing me down, but I’ve let that shit go.”

Having your dirty laundry aired to the entire world was freeing, I guess. I’m not sure I could overcome all that he did.

“You trust them both?”

“Yeah.” He glanced over at Grey and Remi. “Now, the only fights I have are with Grey. We constantly rumble for dominance, but I always win.”

“What?” I was skeptical. “Grey is big and fit. Are you sure you always win? Or is he just letting you win?”

He laughed again. Hearing the sound and seeing him look so peaceful and content was like taking a shot of pure joy.

“Is he watching us now?”

Ghost’s back was to Grey, but I just had to turn slightly and I could see him. “Yes.”

“I can feel him watching. He doesn’t like me talking to you.” Ghost put his hand in my hair and ruffled it.

Startled, I asked, “The fuck you doing? Trying to get the shit kicked out of me?”

He chuckled. “Just riling him up a bit. It’ll make for one fucking good night.”
