He took her hand in his, like he was her boyfriend and they were about to set out on a very normal date. Not like he was a sheikh, and she his future sheikha. Not like she had been a prisoner in her own home growing up, and he had been a literal prisoner of a dungeon.

But just as they were.

Just whole, and together.

“What do you want to see?” she asked.

He thought for a moment. “Whatever we want.”

And so they did. Because they were free. And they were in love.

EPILOGUE

THEGRANDAFFAIRof their wedding was storied. Written about in publications all over the world. A fairy tale. And on their wedding night, she got to give her husband another surprise.

“Where else would you like to go?” he said. “The wonderful thing about technology is so much ruling of a country can be done from other locations.”

She had created a monster. Riyaz did not just like to go outside. He liked to hike. He liked to see the world. Everything that he had ever read about. They had stayed in the rather run-down diner in New York City for longer than she would’ve liked because he was so entranced by the atmosphere, and how it was exactly as described in a spy novel he’d read.

He was a menace. And she loved him. And she realized that... She was actually getting to live many lives with him. Because they both got to live their dreams with each other.

“Well, that would be a good idea. And we do need to get more flying in before...”

“Before what?”

“They don’t like you to fly too late in your pregnancy.”

He stood up off the bed. “Really?”

“Yes.”

And then he dropped to his knees, and put his hand on her stomach. He looked up at her, his dark eyes filled with emotion. “Brianna, there was a time in my life when I had nothing but darkness. Nothing but despair. And a dungeon. And you have given me the world. You made me the Sheikh. A man. Husband. Now father. What have I given you?”

She leaned in and kissed him. “Everything that I ever wanted.”

Pregnant with Her Royal Boss’s Baby

Jackie Ashenden

Her heartbeat hammering, Freddie followed him outside and over to where a wooden seat sat beneath a shady oak. Augustine’s face was absolutely impassive, his blue-green eyes betraying nothing at all as he gestured for her to sit.

“No, thank you,” she said, her voice hoarse. A feeling of trepidation had collected inside her, and sitting was the last thing she felt like doing. “What is it, sir?”

He was staring at her, his gaze scalpel sharp.

Her heartbeat grew even louder, her mouth dry as the desert that had surrounded her family’s trailer.

He knows the baby is his.

No, that was impossible. He hadn’t known it was her that night. He couldn’t have, because he’d never said anything to her about it.

Slowly Augustine folded his arms, his gaze pinning her to the spot.

“So, just out of interest,” he said. “When were you going to tell me your baby is mine?”
