“You surprised me,” she scolded Jubal, without really meaning it.
“Should I do it again someplace more private?” he asked.
“As often as you want,” she laughed.
“I can’t wait to spend forever with you,” he told her, his dark eyes soulful and serious.
“I can’t wait either,” she told him.
He smiled down at her and she felt his happiness pour into hers, filling her with a gratitude she knew would last a lifetime.
