Page 90 of Hate Me Like You Do

I smile to myself. Welcoming cold air hits my warm skin as he lifts the blanket up, sliding under the covers.

And just like I used to, I stop breathing.

Knox slides his arm underneath my pillow, his other hand skimming across my smooth stomach and dragging me through the blankets until I’m tightly against him. Three seconds is all it takes for every hard fuckable plane of Knox’s body to align with mine. And it feels so… good. Right? Amazing? Erotic.

“Violet Demure.” His words are hot against my neck, his nose nuzzling against my neck. “I’ve waited too long for such a good girl to invite me into her bed.” The heavy tone of his voice sends a tingle from my breastbone down to my hips and then even lower.

“It’s your bed,” I say in one exhale. “My bed is a small twin size mattress on a rickety old frame on the other side of town.”

His hand twirls a stray piece of hair very slowly before his touch falls along my collarbone, fingers skimming the side of my throat, the top of my breast. “You don’t belong there any more.”

“I don’t belong here.”

Every muscle in his body answers the statement. His hand explores over my curves in languid sweeping touches, his fingertips straying beneath my top until he brushes very very slowly across my nipple.

A breath shakes from my lungs.

I try to concentrate on the reason I asked him here. But my mind feels foggy when his fingertips trace along the underside of my bra.

You need information. You need a plan. I argue with myself.

I need dick. That’s what I really need.

A touch skims over my chest. The feeling leaves me fighting not to arch into it or ask for more.

Ask him. Ask him anything.

“Where does your father go when he leaves?”

The lines that he draws down my stomach stop. He leans away, hums slightly, then tilts his head against mine. His skin against mine is a burning touch. It sets my whole body ablaze.

“Work. A big corporation.” He pauses. “Wait, you didn’t invite me here for my body?”

I laugh and I can feel his smile against my skin. That tantalizing touch of his begins again. His fingers tiptoe down my shirt, prying the material up. Swift circles of his touch bloom over my abdomen. Each a dance that trails lower and lower and lower.

Calloused and rough, his touch catches on the lace of my panties. They dare to venture below the material. It’s only the briefest slip of his fingers beneath the fabric before I grab his hands.

“Black?” He breathes the question out like it hurts him not to know.

We’re right back where we were so long ago.

It feels good in a way. In the way that I know nothing will ever change between us.

But it feels tragic in other ways.

Because too much already has.

“I did not invite you for your body.” I pray he doesn’t see the heat that floods my cheeks in the dim light of the lamp.

Knox groans. “That’s unfortunate.”

“Does he have cameras?” I push forward, relentless in my pursuit for knowledge. For a chance to escape.

“Everywhere within the house. The basement and the garage are safe places. In a way. If you’re planning on running while he’s at work, might I suggest you leave your phone behind. While I’m at it, I’ll suggest you don’t. Do not fucking run, Vi.”

“He can track it?” I ask, immediately wanting to toss the small piece of technology into the garbage.

“He can find you no matter where you go.”
