“And yet he saved this poor lad that the hiscat favors.” The hiscat on his arms butted its head on my shoulder. “He earned his place and the right to help him escape.”

“He came from the South,” the beefy guy spit the word South. But Scarface never reacted. He just remained silent and now he is looking at the hiscat.

“How many do I need to tell you that we cannot judge someone from where he came from?” The leader addressed him. “We need to leave by daybreak. Kilo’s gang members are looking for him. He needs to go and we need to move forward.”

I gasped. “Kilo? The man who kidnapped me was from Kilo’s gang?”

“No!” The leader turned to me. I can also feel Scarface’s staring at my face. “Are you not listening young lad? That man is a freelance. He doesn’t belong to any gang.” He searched my face. “Do you know Kilo?”

“I- I met him. I don’t know the place. It was like a tavern - “ I don’t even know where we were. And I can’t exactly say it was like a setting in a wild west movie!

“I know.” Someone from the crowd said. Beefy guy and the lean man moved sideways.

“The tavern manager!” I was so happy to see him I rushed forward and hugged him. I heard the oomph. Someone growled loudly in the background.

“Ah lad, I’m so glad you survived,” the manager awkwardly hugged me back and patted me on my back. He was the one who wanted to free me from Zirc. He and his apprentice were so kind to me.

“I-I t-thought you guys perished!” I wailed.

The manager sighed. “Me and my nephew were lucky. We had a relative that had an emergency in the Silver Tribe. We asked one of our innkeeper -“

His nephew placed a hand on his shoulder. He couldn’t continue.

“Are they all gone? Have you gone back?”

The manager shook his head, lips tight. He looked around, not seeing anything. His nephew tugged him close. I was there when it happened. I did not saw any of his employees when I was there. It was very hard to lose someone. However, these two before me looked like they really care about their employees. I wasn’t surprised. They even tried to save me from Roqs and Zirc, thinking I was in danger.

His nephew continued the narration. “Some survived. The town owned Roqs and Zirc for saving them. Shocked they were not affected by the Shura.”

I heard gasps all around. I shivered. It looked like a big deal. I heard the others whispering and their shocked questions.

“What? The shura has no effect on them?”

“I heard it wasn’t possible.”

“It is impossible! These are just gossip.”

“True. No one can escape the shura. No one! Not even other alien life forms.”

“Even parasites and all living things cannot move.”

The old man was now standing up and walked towards me and the innkeepers, supported by a young manasty. “You were there.” It wasn’t a question.

I nodded.

“What did you see?”

I only looked at the old man. How much detail should I tell them? Without Zirc, Roqs or even Coone to guide me, I’m at a loss on what to say. Too bad this mate thing doesn’t work with clairvoyance. I could use a help line right now.

“I saw them frozen at first.” I paused and saw and felt their eyes on me. “Then Zirc was the first one to move.” Gasps all around. Of course, I can’t tell them that I was never frozen in the first place!

I told them how eventually Roqs was able to free himself.

Now there are more raised voices and questions being thrown left and right. I hunched my shoulders, feeling the pressure from everyone to know how it is possible and could they replicate it? That is their million dollar question and I have no idea. Even Crix’s team has no way to explain it without seeing it with their own eyes. I also couldn’t ask them if this shura worked on another female from another planet. Because that’s the only thing that’s different between me and all these males on these planet. Even Coone is a male! For a male dominated society, I would at least imagine them importing more females. At least for company.

Then again, there was Nialla, who had breasts even though he had a huge dick. This was why I failed in biology.

“Silence!” it was their captain. “We proceed as planned. Some of our crew outside the dock reported they saw Xylythor. We will take him,” he pointed at me. “There. Xylythor should be able to bring him back to the Silver Tribe.”
