Roqs chuckled. “Ah Brynn. You never cease to amaze me, little one. You are my constant source of amusement.”

“I’m glad I entertain you,” I grumbled at him. We continued to watch Coone pace in front of the building. Xy was giving him death glares. He better not harm Coone.

“He’s fine, Brynn. He just couldn’t help himself. You were away from him for days. He wasn’t ready to share you with anyone else.”

I looked up at Roqs who was staring in another direction. The area around us was too quiet, I think we were the only ones awake. What Roqs was saying, I understood perfectly. If it were that female manasty who looked at Coone, even Roqs. Shit. If I had claws, they would be out right now.

“How come he - she - has a breast?”

Roqs looked down at me. “We are in the Purple Tribe. You should see more like him. We still address them as a male, Brynn. It would be an insult to our females if you call him, she.”

“What do you call them, then?”

“By their names,” he quipped. I rolled my eyes at him. “Manners. You need to have some manners when we reach the Central, Brynn. This tribe is unlike mine and the Blue Tribe you visited. The Purple Tribe takes pride in their manners and traditions.”

“Is there time to teach me any of this manners?” I asked. What I wanted to ask him though, will Zirc be there in the Central?

“It is quite simple. Just don’t say anything. Keep your mouth shut. And don’t roll your eyes, just what you did again just now.”

He had to be kidding. “I doubt you would just stay quiet!”

He smirked. “Of course not. I am the Alpha of the Silver Tribe. I will not cower before them.” His tone was menacing. “We have no time to teach you, Brynn. It would take minimum of six months to learn all the ways in the Central. The only reason you can get inside is because we are traveling with the twins. And if you must call them, a visiting ambassador from Planet Arkun called them xemales.”

“Xemales?”

He nodded. “Taken from the scientist long gone from this world, Xe. His life ambition was to transform some of our males to females by changing their DNA. He and the scientists after him were not successful. The most they could achieve was a xemale.”

“Roqs,” one of the twins called us. Strangely, I could tell which one of them it was. Nim’s eyelids had a very small slant on the edges. Plus, he was wearing a half mask on his lower face again.

Me and Roqs moved forward. Just then, I heard a zing sound from the distance. Then I gasped. All I saw was a strange light, then a sleek looking space ship appeared in front of us. It occupied almost the whole quadrangle.

I jerked upright, the same time Coone went to my side. Maybe half a dozen manasties, fully covered with mask, sprouted out of nowhere. Like ninjas. Was I still dreaming?

Ah yes. They probably used the same technology as Scarface when he quickly transported me down the hill.

“Listen up,” Sim’s voice rang throughout the open space. His voice was loud, but deep and clear. Like he gave speeches to crowd on a daily basis. He appeared out of the sperm whaled shaped ship. The door swished closed after he stepped through it. Though it looked weird, it was sleek and polished metallic black. I wouldn’t see this moving around in the dark. Even what looked like windows were all black.

Axad and Xy joined the fully covered manasties in front of Sim. “You,” Sim pointed to one of the masked manasties. “Stay here. Look out for any of the males identified by theqhudril.”

I stiffened. I knew what that meant. Was he referring to me? Did he just told everyone here that I was a rat?

Coone rubbed my right hip to soothe me. His tail looped into my left thigh.

Coffee. I need coffee right now.

“Axad, Xy, zip to the Central now and tell my fathers to expect us and we are coming in hot.”

Axad and Xy stiffened.

Roqs chuckled beside me.

“Good luck with that,” Coone murmured.

“Kru’h Sim,” Axad began. He stopped when Sim glared at him.

“You will follow my orders, Axad. Remember your oath.”

“Who will guard you?” Xy challenged.
