Sim elbowed me sharply on my ribs. I barely felt the sting of it.

Brynn. Even her name was exotic.

I licked my lips. Was I drooling?

Where did she come from? Does she feel the pull the way me and Sim felt? I couldn’t wait until we have her between us. We enjoyed females from other races, but there was just something special about her. The way she cared about Coone, the way she gasped, and moaned.

Fuck. I grunted.

Sim gripped my erect cock. His tail wrapped around the tent of my tunic. He glared at me as if to say ‘Behave’.

I sighed and leaned back to the sofa. Grumbling, I grabbed my food and finished it. Sim eventually released my slowly deflating cock. Roqs spared me a superior glance. Coone and Roqs better not say we can’t touch her. Otherwise, shit is going to go down. Sim might seem composed now, but inside I knew he and his beast were ready to fight if we don’t get to be with her soon. Now would be much preferable.

It doesn’t help that she gasped every now and then staring at the window. She looked so shocked to see that everything was modern here. Will she give the same face when her lips was full of my cock?

Protect mate.

My beast’s instincts roared to life. I tackled Brynn to the floor and felt Sim’s weight behind my back. Explosions rocked outside the ship. Glasses shattered. Someone was shouting, but I couldn’t hear him or them. My mind was screaming at me to protect Brynn and Sim. Coone and Roqs could fend for themselves. They were warriors, like me. Sim wasdesignedto be the diplomat. Why was he protecting my back?

The ship shuddered as we heard more explosions.

“Get off Brynn, you big dumbmusator I’ll slice off your head!” Coone threatened as he tried to pry off my left arm from Brynn. I gently cupped her head so that her face was against my chest.

“We need to leave. Now!” Roqs was in alpha mode. When I looked up, his eyes transformed to his beast. Then the ship tilted so I used my whole body when we slid to the other side. The ship was being overturned.

When Brynn screamed, I thought my heart will explode from my chest. My arm felt Coone on the other side of her.

“Let go,” Brynn hissed at me which shocked me.

“Are you okay?” I asked gently.

“I will be okay if I can stand up,” she countered, gasping a little. “You’re bleeding.” She paused. I blocked her hand when she reached out to my forehead.

“It doesn’t matter.” I helped her and Coone stand up. She looked okay, not a scratch on her. Me and Coone were bleeding but our wounds were superfluous.

“Nim.” Sim. I heard him draw his swords out. We were going to fight.

“He’sokay.” I dare not tell our enemy that we were holding a female.

“Kru’h,” Tits said to my right. He had many cuts and his face was blooming with a bruise. “Clitasoxdfwe’h will direct us out of here.”

I nodded at him. Brynn stood up. I was proud of her. Though I can feel her shivering, she was moving.

Roqs stared at me. In that brief moment, we knew what must be done. The first priority was to get Brynn out of here. If we had time, we would kill the ones who dared to attack us.

Coone took her away from me. I reeled my beast who wanted to get out and slaughter everyone. There was a very real possibility that this was Kilo’s gang out to get her, so we needed to hurry. I let Coone cover her with a blanket covering her head. She would look like a local and not mistaken for an alien.

Sim grabbed my face. When he saw I was well, he let me go. When he tried to follow Roqs, I pulled his arm back and growled at him. "What do you think you're doing?"

Instead of cracking a joke like he usually does, he bumped his forehead against mine. "That is our mate walking away from us, Nim. Coone will protect Brynn but I'd rather have you with them. You are stronger than me. No. We can't bring the fight to them."

Sim was right. Fuck, why was he always right? We were never part. In fight. In sex. I never had to choose between him and another. I never imagined this day would come when I had to choose between him and our mate.

"Come back alive."

He snorted, eyes alight with mischief. "You know I would use Roqs as a shield, right?"

He joked but we knew the truth. No way would he just wait ont he sidelines even if he was a Royal. He took his role seriously. I looked into his eyes, the same shade as mine. I missed the days when his eyes used to be green.
