“Do you have a bandage?” I ask, taking his hand in mine when he sits next to me.

“No.”

“Take off your shirt,” I say which brings about his mischievous smile.

“Ready for round three already?” he teases, pulling his black t-shirt with graceful ease over his head.

I can’t help but sense the heat creep into my cheeks. And the sight of his sculpted torso is not helping either. His skin is a golden tan that makes his black hair stand out.

I reach out to touch the gothic angel wings on his left breastbone, but as I lean in closer, I can see a scar almost hidden by the wings. It’s a dark, ragged scar that’s too ugly to be on someone like Hudson.

He takes in a sharp breath as I touch the scar and I can feel him staring at me closely, so I glance up at him.

His narrow green eyes are vacant as if he’s trying to block out some memory.

“What are you doing?” His voice is low, detached.

I pull my hand back. “I like the tattoo.” I lie because something tells me that asking about his scar is not such a good idea.

Hudson buys into my response because he relaxes his shoulders and hands me his t-shirt. “I like tattoos. I like the feeling of getting it.”

I lift a curious eyebrow and laugh. “What? Most people wouldn’t say they love the feeling of being inked with a needle.”

“And I’m not most people,” he says.

That is something that I can agree with.Hudson is something else, I think silently as I rip his black t-shirt apart and wrap his cut hand.

Another Climax

Hudson and I are done with dinner and now we’re lying side by side, staring out at the skyline. Up here all alone, it seems like we’re in an entirely different world.

“It’s late,” I say, sitting up a little. “I have an early class tomorrow.”

“Stay,” Hudson whispers.

I look over at him to see that he’s barely awake. His eyes are half-mast and his arms are limp at his sides.

I move closer until I’m resting my head on his warm, firm chest. “I can’t.”

This makes him smile. “But you can. Just stay. You’re not going to get arrested for staying over.”

“I’m not sleeping on a couch,” I say.

He laughs this time and sits upright. “You don’t have to. You can sleep in my bed then.”

“And you take the couch?” I ask, playfully nudging him as we both get up.

He chuckles as he walks over to the panel by the wall and taps a few buttons that completely dim the lights.

“I don’t think so,” he says, turning around and moving towards me.

When he reaches me, Hudson takes my hand and leads me across the living room to where stairs are leading further up into the penthouse.

“Don’t you get lonely living all alone here?” I ask as we climb the stairs.
