“To say I’m sorry,” Hudson whispers. “Tick tock, get your fine ass here now.”

“You’re so demanding.”

“Bite me,” he says and then I hear the sudden beep meaning he ended the call.

I am potentially messing up my entire schedule if I am going to give in and go to him.

“Fuck,” I whisper as I stuff my books into my bag as fast as I can and leave the library in record time.

My apartment building is three blocks away, so I shut down the idea of getting a cab and start jogging down the street.

I’m pretty sure I’m getting all those weird stares because I look like a maniac running down the street while fully clothed during the day.

I am panting and out of breath when I reach my apartment building. But sure enough, I find Hudson’s Mustang parked outside on the side, clearly standing out from the mediocre surroundings.

“Hello, Ms Kelleher,” George, the doorman, nods his head before opening the glass door for me.

“Hey, George. How are you and Nancy?” I ask, stepping into the coolness of the foyer.

“All good.” George smiles and then frowns. “You look flustered. Is everything okay?”

Oh yeah, I didn’t just imagine Hudson—this amazing dude with really really long fingers—just running his hands all over me while I felt like I was running half a marathon,I think silently.

But instead, I say, “Yeah, I’m going out later so I had to rush.”

He nods his head in an understanding manner. “Have a good evening.”

“Thanks. I hope you have one too,” I tell him as I step into the elevator.

The doors close and I try to catch my breath as the elevator goes up, but in no time, I’m on my floor and the silver doors are sliding open.

I’m even sure why, but I’m nervous all over again, a little hot from my jog and sweaty. My worst fear has come true and I probably look like a dishevelled heap of crap.

Calm down, it’s just Hudson, a voice in my head tells me.

Exactly,I tell myself, which is why I’m so freaking nervous.

I see him standing there, leaning with his back against the door and as I near him, he must sense my presence because he turns to face me.

He’s in a pair of dark blue jeans with a navy blue t-shirt that hugs his torso in all the right places. His black hair is cut a little shorter than what it usually is.

Fuck,I think.I could have at least made myself look a little more presentable. He looks so fuckable and I…so unfuckable.

Well, I didn’t really have the time to look hot.

“I almost thought you weren’t going to make it,” he says, with his dark green eyes drifting lower and he reaches up and runs his index down my chest. “Did the run make you so flustered or was it all those dirty thoughts of yours?”

“I-I…” I drift off, my words disappearing as he steps closer.

That’s when I notice a dark blue bruise over the side of his cheekbone and a deep cut near his eyebrow.

“What happened to your face?” I ask.

“I fell,” he says blinking twice really fast.

“Liar,” I say. “That’s the worst lie in the history of lies.”

“Well, I really did,” he says, before reaching out and grabbing me by my waist. “Now be quiet so I can fuck you.”
