“She wasn’t supposed to sit, so it is your fault,” Sarah shouted after him as Sky walked out the door.

I rolled my eyes. “Let’s just get this over with.”

“Some would think this is not the correct attitude for someone renewing their vows with the love of their life.”

“There are a lot of things that don’t change with age… my dislike of attention being one of them.”

“Guess, you wish it was Vegas all over.”

A dreamy sigh escaped me, but I didn’t say anything.

I desperately wished to be back in Vegas.

Thirty Year ago

“You should marry me.”

Aiden’s words barely reached me through the fog of orgasm that was settling on my brain.

“What?” I muttered, turning to my stomach and wrapping the sheet around me.

He laid in bed, fully naked and his piercing blue eyes glued to me. He looked like a man who saw the sun for the first time after a long time. I caught him staring more and more the past few days and I loved how he made me feel like I was the only girl in the entire world. Like he only had eyes for me.

“I want you to be mine.”

“I’m yours,” I assured him, leaning my head on his chest. His heartbeat drummed under my ears as I smoothed my hand over his defined abs. I never got over how perfect he was.

Aiden groaned as I hinted small kisses all over his chest, not wanting to forget any part of him.

“I’m serious, baby,” he captured my face in two hands and pulled me to him until we were eye to eye. “Marry me.”

“You know, usually there is this thing called a proposal, where you kneel down and ask me to marry you, first you ask my dad for permission and all the drama,” I teased him with a smile.

His expression didn’t change, his smile only deepened. “I mean you didn’t strike me as a girl who would enjoy the public…”

“Hey, there is a difference between doing it in front of ten million people and just the two of us.”

Aiden smirked. “Really… What am I doing now?”

“Asking me… technically demanding…”

“Go on.”

“Wait, are you serious?” I gasped, staring at him.

Aiden sat up, holding me on his lap and reached onto the night stand into the box of condoms and pulled out a beautiful diamond ring.

“Hazel McCarthy… from the first time I saw you walk into that damn Starbucks I fell for you. I loved your secret little smile you had on your face when no one was looking, I loved watching you dance, grow and find yourself. I know without a shadow of a doubt that you are meant for me and despite the universe playing some trick on you to get you to Baywater, you ended up exactly where you were supposed to be. With me. I have wanted to marry you since the day you told me about Sky. I want you in my life and I want him in my life too. I want us to be a family. I know, it's not going to be easy as he doesn’t even know that you are his mother, but I want to be with you every step of the way when you tell him. I want to have my own family with you. And selfishly, I need you there by my side. I want to play every game from now on knowing you are there watching me.”

“Are you proposing or asking me to be your groupie?” I giggled, my cheeks all flashed.

Aiden cupped my face with his free hand. “I want you to be my wife, my number one fan, the mother of my child and my best friend. I want you to be my everything for the rest of our lives. And even after. Forever.”

Emotions clogged my throat as he went through his little speech and I wanted to pinch myself to make sure I was awake and it was happening. It felt like a dream that I never wanted to wake up from.

“Will you do me the honors and marry me?” Aiden asked finally the most important questions.

My heartbeat in an uncontrollable rhythm and tears clouded my vision.
