“We need to find another way to track her. Her phone was still on the table,” Mananan replied. He knew it technically wasn’t his brother’s fault, but he still wanted to punch him in the face.

Mananan, Mananan!Ella’s voice rattled through his head.

“Ella? Where are you? Taran! I can hear her,” he said.

Taranis placed his hands on Mananan’s shoulders, and magic burned through his skin. “Focus on the voice. I’ll boost you, and we’ll find her.”

Ella? Where are you, baby?Mananan sent back.

“Baby?” Taranis snorted.

“Shut the fuck up.”

“Focus, brother.”

Mananan was going to get Ella back and wring his brother’s neck later.

Mananan! I’m so fucking scared.Cold fear seeped through Mananan’s chest, and he forced himself to stay calm.

We can come to you, Ella. Just show us where you are.

Near the lighthouse… The mage is here with followers… Wards making him invisible. I know where he is,her voice came through, getting fainter.

“Fuck. We are losing her. Hang on, this might hurt,” Taranis said and plunged into his mind. Mananan ground his teeth together as his brother’s magic hurtled through his connection to Ella. A nighttime beach flashed in front of his eyes, the trees damp where she was hiding, the spit of sand she was staring at.

With a cry of pain, the connection broke away, and he was back in Bayn’s castle, panting like he’d run a marathon.

“I know where she is. I flew over that place and saw nothing,” Taranis said, wiping the sweat from his brow.

“If Ella says the mage is there, then he is,” Mananan replied, getting to shaky feet. “Get your gear. We are going to get her and kill that fucking mage.”

“Okay, I’ll wake everyone,” Taranis replied. He shut his eyes, and magic pulsed once sharply though the castle. Doors banged open, and cries of alarm rose. “That worked well.”

Mananan’s chest hurt, but at least he knew where to go. Ella’s fear still coated his tongue, and he hated it. He stuffed his feet into boots and slung Fragarach on his back. He braided his hair back as he walked down the stairs to the main part of the castle.

Oberon, Taranis, and Bayn were already up and waiting for him. Bayn was giving instructions to a gathering group of fae warriors.

“You okay, Manan?” Oberon asked, his golden eyes worried.

“I will be as soon as I have my mate and my sword is in that fucking mage’s guts,” he replied.

“Wait, we are coming too,” Bron called as she and a still half-asleep Killian appeared at the top of the stairs.

“Good. We’ll need another god killing blade if that fucking sea monster turns up,” Taranis said.

They assembled outside in the courtyard, and Taranis walked around them, sketching sigils on the paving stones.

“Okay, everyone, I need you to lock arms. I’m going to enhance Bayn’s power, and I don’t want anyone getting lost in the void,” he called out, sounding far too cheery.

“This should be fun,” Killian grumbled and took Mananan’s arm. “We’ll get your girl, uncle. Don’t worry.”

“I won’t stop worrying until I see her,” Mananan replied. He needed her in his arms again, and once he had her, he was going to yell at her for taking potions in the middle of the night without telling him.

Mananan didn’t know if Ella could hear him still, but he shut his eyes and whispered,Hold on, baby. I’m coming.

Bayn’s cold magic filled the air, and they all dropped into the darkness.
