"Perfect," I mutter in response. Ending this sooner may be for the best, as I don’t want to get too emotionally invested in all of this.

I typequick responses to some of my emails as I wait for Phebe to join me. It's almost time for us to leave and she is nowhere in sight.Did she change her mind?I question in my head. I'm about to head to her room when she steps out into the hallway. My breath catches at the sight of her. She's wearing a stunning red dress that hugs her curves in all the right places. I'm momentarily lost for words, my usual composure slipping for just a moment.
"Hi, Jeffrey. I'm sorry I'm late," she says breathlessly. Her voice sends a beautiful sensation all over my body. For the first few minutes I'm tongue-tied as I take in her alluring beauty.
"Hi, it's…it's fine." My voice comes out like a whisper. I can't help it as my eyes openly sweep her body.
"You look amazing," I manage to say, my voice laced with sincerity.
Her cheeks blush faintly as our eyes meet, a slight smile playing on her lips.
"Thank you, Jeffrey. You’re not looking too shabby yourself."
I chuckle softly in attempt to steady my racing heart. Her beautiful scent fills my nostrils. Leaving me completely captivated by her presence.
"Well, I do my best," I manage to say.
"Shall we?" I ask and she nods.
I extend my hand towards her, and she intertwines her fingers with mine. The proximity nearly drives me insane. She overwhelms my senses even more. The gentle fragrance of her perfume permeates the air, heightening my senses. Despite the barrier of my suit, her touch still ignites a burning desire within me. It takes everything in me not to say, ‘damn the consequences,’ and fully indulge my craving for her throughout the night. Leading her out of the house, we head straight to the awaiting Rolls Royce. Opening the door, I assist her inside.
"Thank you," she whispers. I still don't know why her voice feels like a tender caress.
"You're welcome," I respond, shutting the door behind her. I walk around the car, trying to compose myself in the limited time I have.
However, all my determination flees the moment I join her inside the car. The drive to the restaurant is silent as I discreetly steal glances at her. How can someone be so captivating? I'm acutely aware of her presence, every movement, every shift of her gaze, igniting a spark within me. I try to focus on the road ahead, but it's a challenge with her beside me.
As I gaze at her, I am overwhelmed by her beauty. How will I ever resist the allure she possesses? The past complications serve as a reminder to keep my distance and guard my heart, fearing the consequences if she were to leave again.
Despite my inner turmoil, I manage to maintain my calmness as we approach the restaurant. The car stops in front of Exquisite Tastes, one of the five-star restaurants in the area. I step out and quickly make my way around to open her door. The moment she grabs my hand, I feel like I’m losing control.
"Is there anything I should know? How am I supposed to act?” to act," she asks.
"Just be yourself, no need to worry," I assure her.
We enter the restaurant, leaving the bustling streets behind for an atmosphere of refined elegance. I feel her arm tense as we walk, but I offer her a reassuring smile. Silently conveying that she has nothing to fear. Within seconds, a hostess joins us.
"Good evening, sir. Ma'am. Welcome to Exquisite Tastes. How may I assist you?"
"I'm here to meet Mr. Lucas," I inform her. She checks their reservation list on a tablet and asks.
"Your name, please?"
"Jeffrey Rowland," I reply.
"Yes, Mr. Lucas is expecting you. Please, come with me." Confirming our arrival, she guides us to the VIP section.
"I’ve been here a couple of times; the food is really exquisite," I remark, trying to break the initial silence.
Phebe glances around, a hint of appreciation in her eyes.
"The aroma and the elegant setting give me high expectations for the food here.”
The hostess leads us to a private section where Lucas and Parker are already seated.
