"Good evening, gentlemen," I greet them as we approach the table. Both men promptly stand.

"If it isn't the famous artist. Good evening, Jeffrey. It's great to see you tonight," Lucas says.

" Likewise. Phebe, allow me to introduce Lucas and his son, Parker. this is Phebe," I make the introductions.

"Pleasure to meet you, Phebe," Lucas says, extending his hand for a handshake.

"Nice meeting you, Mr. Lucas," Phebe says, shaking his hand turning to Parker, she politely adds, "Nice meeting you too, Mr. Parker," Phebe says politely.

"Oh, please, call me Parker," Parker says, grinning. I feel urge to wipe it off his face. Frowning, I notice he is holding her hand longer than I’d like.

"Let’s focus on dinner and why we’re all here, please," Lucas says, bringing relief. Parker finally releases Phebe's hand, allowing me to pull out a chair for her. It unsettles me that she will be sitting across from Parker, but I find solace int the fact that she’s seated right beside me.

We settle down in minutes and the waiters serve our food. Lucas and I dive into business discussion during our meal. However, my attention shifts when I notice Parker can’t take his eyes off Phebe. Lucas's words about our partnership become a distant hum as I split my attention between the conversation and Phebe's interactions with Parker.

"You look stunning in that dress." Parker remarks. My fits clenches upon hearing his words. Leaning a bit too close to Phebe, his grin appears almost predatory.

"Thank you, Parker." Phebe smiles in response.

I take a sip of wine, trying to maintain composure while my irritation simmers beneath the surface. Parker's blatant flirtations are pushing my boundaries, and I resist urge to address the situation more directly.

"So, Phebe, have you been to this place before?" Parker asks, his voice dripping with false charm.

"No, this is my first time here, I've only been in Miami once, and that was years ago," she replies.

"That’s surprising. I hope the food won’t a disappointment," Parker comments, and I glare at him. Can't he see she is off limits? I can’t stand people who don't understand the definition of boundaries.

"Absolutely, the food here tastes really good," Phebe says, smiling beautifully.

"Well, there are several places in Miami that you can explore. I could introduce you to a few wonderful spots," Parker says and that's when I lose my composure.

"I can assure you that I have that part covered," I say through clenched teeth.

"Excuse me?" Parker says with arched brows.

"What I'm saying is that I'm perfectly capable of showing my fiancé the beauty of Miami," I tell him firmly.

"Oh," Parker says, raising an eyebrow. I glance at Lucas, who appears embarrassed by his son's behavior. And rightfully so. What kind of man openly flirts with another man's woman? But she isn't your woman. My subconscious mind reminds me, but I push those thoughts away. Thankfully, Parker ceases his flirtatious advances toward Phebe, but I remain on guard. The dinner continues, and I begin subtly pushing my proposal to convince Lucas that I'm the best fit for this.

JEFFREY

"Ibelieve this collaboration would be beneficial for both our companies and positively impact over a million children," I assert confidently. I eagerly await the end of this dinner so we can leave.

"Agreed. Your proposal is impressive, and I must admit your reputation precedes you, Jeffrey. However, I still need to consider other factors. Nevertheless, I'll prioritize your proposal. Whatever the outcome, I'll let you know, " Lucas states, his expression serious.

"Okay, I'll be expecting your positive feedback," I tell him. The evening draws to close, and we finally leave the restaurant. Although Lucas hasn't given me a definite answer, I sense that the night was a success.

"What an interesting night." Phebe remarks as soon as we step into the car.

"Quite an evening," I finally say, unable to contain my thoughts. The memory of Parker flirting with her fills me with irritation.

"You can say that again. I hope your proposal discussion went well,” Phebe chuckles softly.

"Well, I have feeling that I might have sealed the deal. Although nothing is certain until the contract is finalized," I tell her.

"That sounds fair enough," she says. The interior of the car is dim, but I can clearly see Phebe's beautiful features. No wonder Parker was showing interest in her.
