"I have the information coming through that the Boss requested. We should know if she's right about the identity of the unsub within the next five or ten minutes. I'm certainly not going to be the one who doubts her. How does she do it anyway?"

"I actually followed her career for years," Sylvie shared as she pulled her chair up to sit next to him. She wrapped the string of the teabag around her index finger and slowly dipped it into the hot water. "Brook isn't one to zero in on someone without cause. Did you know that word has it she solved a case in Virginia by simply walking through the crime scene one time?"

"I think she might be psychic." Bit shot a sideways glance at Sylvie. She certainly wasn't going to feed into any more conspiracy theories. He had enough of them already, and she really wasn't willing to give more than the scan of her iris to gain entry into her own workplace. "No? Well, did you know that there was a real person who helped the police solve crimes like that? I think they even made a television show about her."

"I think Brook's insight comes from more of a personal stake in hunting serial killers."

Sylvie suppressed a shiver of fear at the fact that Brook's brother was still out there somewhere. She'd heard about the numerous murders the Illinois police had linked to him many years ago, but that was only because of the body up in Maine. Of course, she hadn't known that Jacob Walsh was literally Brook's biological brother at the time.

"I feel bad for her," Sylvie murmured in empathy. "I heard she wasn't too close with her colleagues at the Bureau, and she doesn't talk about any family or friends. If you noticed, she tends to avoid any conversation that doesn't have anything to do with the case."

"Her father has Alzheimer's Disease, and he's currently in a nursing home in Peoria, Illinois," Bit shared almost nonchalantly, hitting a button on the keyboard. Sylvie watched as the information on the screen began to categorize itself. "Maybe a disease like that can be a blessing in disguise."

Sylvie was taken aback by Bit's perception of such a debilitating disease. He was the type of person that one had the tendency to judge based on stereotypes, but there was so much more to him underneath the surface. Maybe it had to do with his sister's diagnosis or even his run-in with the law.

A subtle beeping that she'd heard upon walking in the room began to carry through the air once again, but it just as quickly stopped. It wasn't coming from the computer that Bit was currently using to garner information on the unsub, but instead one from the other side of his main workstation.

"What is that alarm for?"

"Oh, nothing," Bit replied in a rather uneasy manner before shifting the grey knit cap on his head so that it wasn't so far down on his forehead. "Hey, do you think you can go get me a cup of tea?"

Sylvie hadn't been so sure that he had even liked the one she'd brought him from the cafe earlier this evening. She had sensed at the time that he was only agreeing with her to make her happy, but she had hoped that she'd been wrong. Did he really want a cup of tea or did he simply want her away from his computers?

Sylvie doubted that he was conducting any personal business when they were mere minutes away from confirming Brook's theory, but she'd go and make him a cup of tea, anyway.

"Sure," Sylvie replied after a bit of hesitancy. "Sugar?"

"Yes, definitely," Bit replied with a vigorous nod. "Lots."

Sylvie sighed and would have called him out on such a false errand, but Brook was due into the office any second. Once they had concrete proof of the unsub's identity, the night would progress rather quickly with an arrest no later than sunrise.

Sylvie set her own cup of tea down on the table behind them that had no electronic equipment. The tea needed a bit more time to steep anyway. She made her way into the kitchen, which was simply across the hall. It didn't take her long before she had used the large machine usually reserved for specialty coffees to brew some hot water. She then chose a teabag from her secret collection. She was just about to add a teaspoon of sugar when she realized that she should have inquired about a dash of milk.

Walking back through the doorframe of the kitchen and crossing into Bit's office, she found him staring at a monitor that was nowhere near the one that he'd been working on earlier. It was hard to make out what was on it from where she stood in the doorway, but it was clearly the reason that an alarm had gone off twice. She had twenty-twenty vision with her glasses, but she still squinted to try and make out the...video?

"Is that the front of our building?"

The question had fallen off her lips before she could stop it.

Sylvie walked farther into the room, already instructing Bit to leave the video up on the monitor as he went to erase whatever it was on the screen.

"Don't you dare," Sylvie warned, hastily crossing the room just in case he went ahead and shut the monitor off anyway. "You hacked into the building's security system?"

"You make it sound like I hijacked a nuclear power plant," Bit exclaimed defensively as he stood up from his chair. "It's a feed from a security camera. That's all. Don't you think we should have the ability to see who is coming and going when we might all be targets of a serial killer? I'm not talking about the one we're investigating, either."

"Is that..."

"Yeah," Bit replied without even giving the monitor a second glance. "It's Daniel Snyder."

"And the man standing behind him? Is that..."

Before Bit could confirm what Sylvie was seeing on the monitor, a chime came from the computer that had been running software to compare the name given by Brook over the phone against the injured parties involved in the classified military project.

They had finally gotten a hit.

Sylvie was closest, so she quickly read over the results.

"Boss was right, wasn't she? She is psychic."
