“No. I don’t want to go anywhere,” she whines. “We can eat later.” Her breath increases with need.

“He’s right,” Benji says, taking his hand back and helping her adjust her dress so we no longer see her drenched pussy. He knows we’ve got important things to discuss, and as much as I want to keep her here and pleasure her, we’ve got business to take care of first.

She pouts but brings her shaking legs to the floor and stands. She smooths down her dress, and Benji whispers in her ear, “I’ll be here later if Ash over there can’t satisfy you.” I punch him hard on his shoulder. He lets go of Katarina. “I’m kidding.” But to Katarina he murmurs, “Well, mostly.” He winks at her before running out the door before I get another chance to hit him.

“Let’s go,” I tell her, not at all grumpy.

We walk out of the office and to the car, and we both get in. “Ash, I love the way you fuck me.” That startles me, but I can’t help myself. My chest puffs out feeling good about myself. We’ve only had sex once when she was on her cycle and we haven’t done it since. I’ve been too chicken shit to go for it again.

“I hope we do it again soon.” She grabs the seat belt and buckles herself in. I’m too stunned to move.

“Well, if that wasn’t a sign, I don’t know what is,”my wolf says.“Tell her something about how much you enjoyed it,”he urges, and I should already know better than to listen to my wolf about trying to make awkward conversation with Katarina.

“Yeah, that was fun,” I say, and she snorts like she found my response funny.

“Oh no. . .I already see how disastrous this will be,”my wolf moans and rubs his eyes with his paws as if he’s embarrassed by me.“I’m going back to my cave. I can’t watch this anymore.”

“I’m not that bad.”I try to defend my human side.

“Yes, you are.”He walks back into his cave, shaking his head, leaving me alone with Katarina.

We park in front of the restaurant. “Oh good, there’s almost no one here.” This is what I was hoping for so that Katarina and I wouldn’t have any distractions. Usually, my people like to come up to me and have a chat about concerns or what they like about something or just regular chit-chatter, but right now, my head is not in the right space to talk to my pack.

“It’s like eight in the morning.” She yawns. “Who in their right mind would be up so early on the weekend to go eat breakfast?” She takes off her seatbelt and glares at me like she wanted to stay in bed longer.

I purposely avoid her eyes and get out of the car. It’s not that early, I tell myself. The sky is just starting to lighten up.

“Hi, Ash. Hi, Kat.” We’re greeted by one of the hosts, who is a pack member. “Would you like an indoor or outdoor seat?”

“Outdoor please,” I tell him. I look around the area, and the few people who are here nod our way, lowering their eyes as a sign of respect. Katarina just smiles at them brightly. I’m not sure she even knows that they did it out of respect for both of us.

I bend down and whisper in her ear, “They’re trying to be polite.”

“I know, but it’s still weird. I don’t want to be treated any differently.” I stand back up, but not before I kiss her exposed neck. That’s exactly how the guys and I like to be treated. In my travels a long time ago, there were alphas who would make their pack leave if they were in a restaurant. I always thought it was fucked up. Some would also make their people look down when they were speaking to them. My brothers and I rule differently. We hate the old ways of pack living and vowed to never be one of those assholes.

“Come this way.” The host grabs two menus and leads us outside. There’s no one but us here. Just the way I want it.

Our bodies regulate our temperature so we don’t feel cold, but they still have pyramid patio warmers, but they only turn them on for other supernaturals who can’t regulate their temperature like we can.

“Your server will be here soon,” he says politely as he drops the menus on the table.

We sit down across from each other and pick up our menus.

“Everything looks so delicious,” she says as her stomach starts to grumble.

She narrows her eyes at me, already knowing I have something smart to say to that, but she’s lucky we get interrupted.

“Good morning.” Our server sounds chipper. He’s probably been up for a while, or he’s just really excited that we’re both here. “Are you ready to order?” He flips our mugs over on the table and pours two steaming cups of coffee.

Katarina immediately grabs hers and inhales the aroma before taking a sip. “It’s so good,” she mumbles. “It’s exactly what I needed.” Maybe she won’t be so upset anymore.

“If you had lured me out of bed with coffee, I probably would have gotten up earlier.”

I take a drink of mine and savor the taste. She’s right, it’s like a cup of heaven. Maybe all I needed for her to be in a good mood was to bring her a steaming cup of coffee. I’ll make sure I do that before waking her up so early next time on a weekend. On weekdays, her internal clock wakes her up early. She’s groggy and sometimes grumpy, but she still wakes, and it doesn’t take her two hours to get ready like it did today. I wonderif she fell back asleep.

She puts her cup down and looks at our server. “I’ll have the meat and cheese omelet with hash browns, toast, and an order of pancakes on the side.” Her face beams as she tells him her order.

“I’ll have the same.” I close my menu and we both hand it to him.
