The sun shines through the glass, the warm sun rays lighting up my room. It looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest. Finally, spring is here. The snow was nice, but I’m ready for some sunshine and the flowers to bloom.

I walk to the window and slide it open. The fresh crisp air enters the room surrounding me. Maybe I’ll go out for a run today.

“Don’t you think that will be fun?”I talk to my wolf but she doesn’t answer. I shrug, she must still be sleeping. I should let her sleep or she’ll be grouchy and ruin this gorgeous day.

My heart is happy and full. I’ve finally found my kids. I’ve mated with my men. Everything is looking up for us.

That is until I find a message from an unknown number. Not this again.

My wolf doesn’t try to stop me from opening it this time.

Usually when it’s an unknown number, that means trouble, so although my wolf is still napping, I decide to leave it alone. I don’t want anyone to ruin this day.

I quickly shower and grab the towels from the rack—one for my body and the other to dry my dripping wet hair. I go into the closet and bypass all of my jeans. I’m ready for summer. I pull out a sundress that sits above my knees. The top is yellow and the bottom is decorated with lemons. I grab my thin red belt and set it on top of my waist to complete my outfit.

I brush my hair with a comb as I stare at my violet eyes. They look glassy today. I can’t really pinpoint what that means, and I’m not sure if I should worry, but I decide I’m not letting it ruin my day.

I walk downstairs. “Ava, Ezra!” I shout near the living room, but no one answers me. I should have checked their rooms before coming down here.

I don’t see Lily anywhere, so I start on breakfast. The guys must have given her the day off.

Omelets for everyone. I grab the eggs from the fridge and a bowl and start to crack them before pulling out the other ingredients.

It takes longer than I anticipated. I forgot I had to cook for a lot of people now. Once I’m finished and have everyone’s food on their plate, I look for my phone around the counter to call them, but I realize I’ve left it back in my room.

“Benji, Ash, Tyler, Az!” I shout from the kitchen, but no one comes down. They’re all probably still sleeping. I clean up the mess in the kitchen and go back upstairs to get my phone. Maybe one of them texted me. I’m going to be pissed if they all went to breakfast without me, especially because I made them food.

I go to my kids’ room first. Ezra’s room is surprisingly clean—not a thing out of place.

That’s strange.

I walk across the hall to Ava’s room, stretching my aching arms. It didn’t get any better while I was making breakfast. They’re still sore. I thought by now the pain would go away.

I open Ava’s door, and it is just as neat.

Where the hell did my kids go?

I try Ash’s room, Tyler’s, Benji’s, and then Az’s, but they’re all empty. I try not to let the panic creep up.

There has to be an explanation for this, right?

“Wolf, Wolf!” I shout, but she doesn’t answer back.

Am I dead?

I pinch my arm. Ouch! Fuck that hurt. Definitely still alive.

Am I in a parallel universe or something? Can that happen? Fuck, this type of supernatural shit is way out of my league. If I truly am, how the hell do I get back to my world? I shiver and push the thought about being stuck and never being found behind me.

I sprint downstairs and open the door, surprised it doesn’t pull off the hinges by how hard I yank it.

I have no shoes on, and the grass against my feet feels real.

“Ezra, Ava!” I shout.

Nothing.

“Ash, Az, Benji, Tyler!” I yell out.
