Turning to Zoey, I pulled her into a hug, feeling her sigh against me. “Are you okay?”

She nodded, resting her head against my chest. “Yeah, just shaken. Thank you, all of you, for being here.”

Mason chuckled. “Well, that’s one way to kick off dinner.”

Liam grinned. “Speaking of which, your plates are on the table!”

The sudden appearance of Adam had been an unexpected twist in our holiday, but it only served to remind me of the strength and unity we shared as a group. Whatever came our way, we would face it together.

After dinner, Zoey’s parents called it a night. They were weary from a day of traveling, and they probably wanted to discuss everything that had transpired in privacy.

It was my night with Zoey, so we headed off to bed.

The residual emotions from the evening seemed to dissipate once we entered the bedroom. Zoey sank onto the bed, letting out a soft chuckle. “Well, that was an eventful evening, wasn’t it?”

I joined her, laughing in agreement. “Between Adam’s unexpected arrival and the talk with your parents, I’d say we’ve had our share of drama for the year.”

She turned to face me, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “I have to admit, I kind of enjoyed the way Adam’s face fell when Mason dropped the truth bomb on him.”

I smirked. “I have to give it to Mason; he has a knack for timing. But on a serious note, I’m so relieved about how your parents took the news. I mean, I was prepared for every kind of reaction, but that... that was unexpected. Welcome, but unexpected.”

Zoey sighed in relief. “I know. I was bracing myself all day. But seeing their understanding, even if it came with reservations, it just... It makes me hopeful.”

“We have something unique, Zo,” I said earnestly. “It’s genuine, and your parents saw that.”

She nestled closer. “I’m just glad we can now focus on enjoying the holidays. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with everyone... It’s going to be perfect.”

My eyes locked onto Zoey’s. “Tomorrow,” I began, voice low and steady, “itwillbe perfect. And do you know why? Because for the first time, we’ll face the festive chaos together.” I took a step toward her, the room’s tension palpable. “All the laughter, the food, the memories... It’s our first real Christmas, and it’s going to be unforgettable.”

Zoey grinned. “Speaking of together, I think we both could use some rest. Tomorrow is another big day.”

I bit down on my lower lip. “I have you to myself right now, and we don’t have any morning activities planned. If you think all I want to do is rest, then you have another thing coming.”

“I guess I’ve been a naughty girl.” Zoey’s eyes twinkled with mischief. “I might need a spanking.”

My eyes raked over her curves as she removed her clothes. The night’s events faded, replaced by the sheer desire that coursed through my body. I couldn’t wait to feel her skin against mine.

It was good to know that Zoey was game for a bit of kink, and I was more than ready to indulge her fantasies.

CHAPTER24

Zoey

The table for Christmas dinner was elegantly set, the centerpiece a myriad of pine and berries, creating a festive atmosphere. Despite the elegant setting, the mood was anything but formal.

Even though we all had initial uncertainties about my new relationship, my parents and brother warmed up. Bodhi, Mason, and Liam seamlessly integrated into our family, as if they had always belonged with us.

Liam, expertly slicing the turkey, remarked, “You know, I’ve heard that how a guy cuts turkey says a lot about him.”

I raised a brow. “Oh, really? So, what’s your turkey-carving style saying about you now?”

“That he’s got a lot of poultry-tential?” Bodhi said.

Mason smirked. “Feather you like it or not, this meal is plucked full of flavor!”

Liam threw his hands up. “One day of turkey duty, and I’m getting roasted!”
