"What's that?"

"We need to get married."

"Oh, I'm planning on it," I grin. "When?"

"Tomorrow."

My eyes widen and I search her gaze. "Are you sure?"

"What better way to gin up some press than a shotgun wedding?" she asks.

I laugh out loud, feeling relieved and excited all at once. "You're crazy, you know that?"

"But you love me," she teases, her eyes sparkling with joy.

I pull her closer, pressing my lips to hers in a deep and passionate kiss. "Always and forever," I reply.

Epilogue

Birdie

Wegetmarriedamonth later...like damn fools in love.

There are certain perks to having a wedding planner for a sister-in-law, and one of them is that she has the capacity to put together a big, beautiful party with the snap of her fingers. Sarah gets us all set with an amazing ceremony and a rager of a reception.

Our wedding day is perfect in every way. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and everything seems to be falling into place. Sarah has outdone herself, creating a stunning outdoor ceremony with beautiful flowers and magical fairy lights that dance around us as we say our vows.

As we exchange our rings, I can feel the love radiating between us. It's like nothing else in the world matters except for this moment, the two of us together, bound in love forever.

And then...holy shit, I'm married to Johnny Playfair.

The guy who I was never supposed to be with.

Who I tried so damn hard to stay away from...and kept coming back to.

And I'll keep coming back for the rest of my life.

After the ceremony, we make our way to the reception where the party is in full swing. The DJ is playing our favorite songs and everyone is on the dance floor, celebrating our love.

It's bittersweet...because I'm starting to love Fern Hollow. But our future is somewhere far away, in another state, where we're both going to live out our dreams.

Together.

We finish the night with a toast, and I give Johnny a sly smile as I turn down his offer of champagne. His eyes go wide, but he doesn't say anything as we entertain our guests and are finally able to go home for the night.

The night sky is dark and quiet as we walk hand in hand towards our honeymoon suite, just down the street in the resort built by our family out here in the Oregon mountains. The stars are shining brightly, just like our future together.

"You didn't drink at the reception," he says. "In fact...I haven't seen you drink all week."

I reach over to my shoulder bag and pull out the gift I've been waiting to show him--the best wedding gift of all. His jaw drops as he looks down at the pregnancy test, his eyes sparkling.

"You're pregnant?" he whispers.

"Yeah," I say, biting my lip. "Guess at least one of those attempts stuck."

Johnny's face radiates with an excitement that I've never seen before. He pulls me into a tight embrace and twirls me around, kissing me passionately. I can feel his tears of joy wetting my cheek as he holds me tightly.

"We're going to have a baby!" he exclaims as he sets me down gently. "I can't believe this is happening, Birdie. I love you so much."
