“What's your name, darling?” I inquire, letting my southern drawl bleed through. People seem to be comforted by it. It gives them a false sense of ease that I'm just the good old boy from next door. I even give her one on my dimples to add to the effect.

"Cameron." She barely looks up at me, fiddling with the empty sugar packets lying on the chipped, worn table.

‘I’m Sly, Cameron. It’s nice to meet you.” I reach out, and it takes her a few beats but she takes my hand in hers. I slowly swipe my index finger across her wrist, feeling how soft she is there. She tries to pull her hand back, but I only grip her a little tighter, not releasing her. Her big green eyes shoot to mine, finally locking on me. I feel the pulse in her wrist pick up.

“There you are, sweetheart. No need to be scared. I came over because you looked…” I glance around the diner, “…out of place.” But she’s going to look perfect in the back of my cab as I pound into her. My cock jerks at the thought. Fuck, I’ve got to get her out of here. I’ve been waiting too long for her and she’s finally here, literally in my grasp.

It’s for the best, really. I can’t let a little bitty thing like her run around on her own, showing up in diners at 2 a.m. with hungry lonely men on the road looking for something like her. The difference between them and me is I wouldn’t use her and toss her aside. No, she’ll be mine forever, and I’ll protect her from herself.

“I’m fine, just…ah…waiting for someone,” she lies, but I play into it. Laying my ground work.

“That someone let you come to a diner in the middle of nowhere at two in the morning all by yourself? That doesn’t seem too safe.”

“I’m really fine. I actually should get going.” She pulls her hand from mine, making her way to stand, but I grab her as she tries to pass.

“Sugar, it’s not safe out there, and you shouldn’t be alone.” I look out the window and back at her. “It’s starting to rain.” She looks down at me, like she’s searching for something in my eyes, and I make them as soft as possible, letting concern show through because it really is there. I won’t let anyone else get their hands on her. No, she would be all mine.

“Evening, Sly. You want your usual?” Betty asks, coming out from the kitchen. I feel Cameron relax in my hold, probably comforted by the fact that the waitress knows me.

“Coffee.” I keep my eyes locked with Cameron’s. “To go.”

“Coming up.”

“It’s a while until the next stop. You want anything for the road?” I lie to Cameron, releasing her arm and standing up to pull out my wallet. I leave a five dollar bill for the coffee on the counter.

“You don’t even know if we’re going the same way.” Her resolve is slipping as she steps a little bit closer to my trap.

I want to tell her it doesn’t matter. From this moment on, she’ll go where I take her. She’ll make my long drives a lot less lonely. She’ll be mine to do with as I please. I’ll be her everything. I’ll consume every part of her until I’m the only thing she has. But I don’t tell her this. Instead I give her words that will ease her doubts about coming with me.

“My mama would skin my hide if she found out I left a young woman stranded somewhere. Wherever you need to go, darlin’, I’ll take you.”

“Dallas?” She has a hopeful look in her eyes, like this might just work out.

“I could use me some good brisket. Sounds like a plan.”

A smile lights up her face and I see relief wash over her. “Thank you.”

“Coffee’s ready, Sly.” Betty breaks into our conversation and I nod my thanks as I take the coffee.

“Truck’s this way.” I open the door for her and point towards my truck. Making our way over to passenger side, I help her in, shutting the door behind her. A door that can only be unlocked from the outside. She’s so close now I can taste it, and I’ll be tasting her soon.

I make my way around to my side, climb in, fire up the ignition and pull out onto the highway. I need to get space between us and everything else.

“You want to talk about it?”

She licks her plump lips, drawing my eyes there. She’s stalling, making it clear she doesn’t want to talk about it. “Not really. It’s a long story to tell.”

“We’ve got lots of time,” I say, reaching over and placing my hand on her bare knee. Why on earth would she be running around in a little dress like that? She tenses at my touch, but I make no move to remove my hand. Why would I? She belongs to me now. The sooner she realizes that and comes to terms with it the better.

“I just needed to get away so I left without thinking it through. I got myself a little lost. Thank you again for taking me to Dallas. It’s a huge help.”

“How thankful are you?” I glance over at her, taking my eyes of the road for just a second. She goes completely still under my hand. Her breathing picks up, pushing her breasts against the bodice of her sundress.

“Please,” she says, her voice cracking on the word. Her face has gone white, and the reality of the situation she’s gotten herself into sinks in.

“Cameron, we can do this the hard way or the easy way. That’s up to you, sweetheart. But either way you’ll be giving me what I want.” I slide my hand up her leg, under her dress. She squeezes her legs together trying to stop me.

“Hard it is.” I yank my hand out from between her legs, grabbing a fistful for her black silky hair in my hand, using it to pull her towards me, and I take her mouth in a hard kiss. It’s over fast, and I wish I could’ve taken her lips for a while longer, but that will have to wait until I find a secluded place. Until then I’m going to enjoy a little taste of what I’ve been waiting for my whole life.
