All of my previous relationships couldn't compare one bit to this one. And it kind of made me laugh to think back on how it all started. The new hire, walking in and suggesting I have a fake relationship without even guessing once that it would turn out to be her.

Of course, I noticed how hot she was! Even a blind man would have sensed her vibe. But who knew that the instantaneous attraction would lead to a life together?

And now? Our baby was going to arrive soon, and that was going to be the start of yet another chapter in our lives.

Business was going well. Now that I'm happily engaged to be married, it seemed like I wasn't that interesting to the world anymore. It was almost boring because the paparazzi wasn't following our every step. No flashing bulbs every time I stepped out of the office or tried to get into my condo. Without worrying about my clicks and likes on social media, I actually had time to focus on business and win a few big accounts based on the good work my staff did.

Yes, I still commanded attention when I walked into the room. There was no doubt that my past media time helped in that department. But instead of using my past fame to fuel a gossip machine, I was happy that I could use it to keep our brand strong.

Did I miss the attention? Not one bit. My playboy stage was over. I realized I had been acting out of hurt for the first serious relationship failure, but that relationship just seemed like a joke when I thought about it now. I should have known better.

The women in between were just exchanges in the moment. They got something. I got something, and none of them meant more than that exchange. Even that seemed like another lifetime, if I was honest.

The lack of attention from the public made me realize that I was, at one time, looking for love in all the wrong places. First, I had to love myself. Then, and only then, could I give Reyna the love that she deserved.

I laughed as I scrubbed my hand over my face.

Seems like I've fucking grown up. Look at you now, Brycie. Who would've known? My dad's words about business and life took on a whole other meaning now.

I leaned back in my recliner chair, fully satisfied with where life was in the moment and excited for where it was going to take us.

Us.

Reyna, me, bub, and both of our families around to support us. It takes a village. Not only to raise a child, but to support a human. And I was going to do all I could to keep my village full of great people to keep my feet on the ground and keep us all moving forward.

The sun was fully up, shining in my face. I squinted in response.

That's right, world. The future is damn bright.

Bring it on.
