“Your mouth… I love it,” Jayden gasped. “Yes, so close, so close, more, suck me harder.”

Hearing Jayden voice his pleasure pushed Octavius’s even higher, teetering him on the edge. He tried to hold himself there, to keep from coming, but the sound of Saint slapping against him, and Jayden’s moan, and then the spurting of cum on his tongue, tipped him over the edge. The pressure broke, his release spilled, and Octavius came, his cock pulsing its load over Jayden’s legs, as Jay came down his throat, and Saint growled and pumped and thrust wildly, coming with a ragged, stuttering cry.

They were done, high on sex, bodies tingling.

Saint kissed the back of Octavius’s neck, then dragged the tips of his fangs down his spine.

“Damn.” Octavius shuddered from the aftershocks and every new electric touch Saint gave him. Saint pulled his cock from within Octavius while Octavius was still reeling from the comedown, then he scooped Octavius around the waist and dragged him back between him and Jayden. Jayden shuffled close, wriggling into Octavius’s embrace, and Saint breathed against his neck.

“Hm,” Jayden purred. “I got my threesome.”

He’d gotten more than that. Was now the best time to tell him due to his contact with Saint and Octavius, he was changing, he’d heal almost any wound, he’d gain strength, and he’d stop aging?

Octavius stroked his hair and hoped whatever godtouched meant that it didn’t change Jayden. He really was the sunshine, the hope and light both Saint and Octavius craved.

He’d have to be told, but not yet. Perhaps after cookies.

They dozed awhile, but with every passing minute, Octavius’s mind turned over the potential futures. Whatever waited for them, he couldn’t fathom how they’d fit.

He had to talk with Storm.

He left Saint and Jayden sleeping, showered, threw on any clothes he could find that didn’t smell like burned nyk, and headed next door to find the others had left. They’d cleared out, leaving cash on the side table for the owner and a simple thank-you note.

They’d left without a word to Octavius.

Octavius tucked his hands into his pockets and returned to their own borrowed apartment. He found his phone among Jayden’s clothes and opened a message from Z.

Come to the old compound.

When you’re ready.

Need to talk.

Z.

That didn’t sound hopeful. The old compound was the Atlas Enterprises base in the city suburbs. It had been a sprawling collection of shiny buildings masquerading as a technologies company before Raiden’s sabotage had blown it all to bits. Why would they go back there?

As far as Octavius knew, there was nothing left, just burned-out buildings.

He headed back into the bedroom to wake Jayden and Saint, but they were both so deeply asleep, Octavius didn’t have the heart to ruin it with Brotherhood bullshit.

He left a note and headed out.

CHAPTER41

Saint

He’d been lost, for a while, and had known only hunger, and fear, and the need to kill, to fight, to protect. They’d tried to take Octavius, and he’d fought. Then Storm had been there, like a lighthouseina storm, his namesake. And he’d said three words:Octavius needs you. That was all it had taken to ground him again, to regain control. He’d brought Octavius back to the apartment and nurtured him, loved him, in every and any way he could. Jay hadn’t hesitated, and together, they’d brought each other back.

So when Saint woke, he sensed Octavius had left.

He wasn’t in the apartment and wasn’t next door either. Saint found his note—Gone to the Brotherhood—and scrunched it in his fist.

They would try to turn Octavius against Saint. They’d want him back. Theyneededhim.

“What’s wrong?” Jay asked, probably woken by Saint’s growl.

“Nothing. Stay here—Actually, no. Get dressed and come with me. You’re a part of this too.”
