I roll my eyes. I never would have guessed a few years ago that we’d all be here, happy together with families of our own. But we did it. We made it, and I know for a fact our old man would be happy, wherever he is.
I stand with my brothers for a few more seconds before Tori calls me over. She kisses me softly and I grin. I think I’ll be in awe every day that she’s mine.
But we chose each other. And we’ll continue to do so for the rest of our lives.
“Honey, could you do me a favor and escort me to my seat? I suddenly feel a little lightheaded,” Tori requests.
“Lightheaded? Are you alright?” I ask, worry evident in my voice.
She reassures me with a smile, “Yeah, I just haven’t eaten anything, and it’s messing with me. I’ll be fine.”
“Alright,” I say, holding her hand as we make our way to our table.
As we approach our seats, Tori leans in and whispers in my ear. “I have something to tell you,” she says, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
I lean in to hear her better, and she drops the bombshell, “I’m pregnant.”
