Reese has been missing since the day Kiplyn gave birth. She never answered a single text Piper sent that day or after. There has been nothing. Not a sight of her, not a call. Absolutely nothing. And I can’t imagine why she would just vanish.

Agony is fucking beside himself trying to find her. I don’t know if she’s running from him or from something else. But the bitch is on the goddamn run, that’s for fucking sure. Nobody just disappears the way she did. Not a single fucking crumb has been left behind.

My phone buzzes in my pocket just as Piper finishes cleaning up the place. Sliding my thumb across the screen, I bring my device to my ear.

“Legacy,” I murmur.

“Got news today that Raul is gone. You know anything about that?” he asks.

My lips curve up into a grin. “All I know is that the man had enemies,” I state. “But this is a clean club now, and I’m good with keeping it that way. I’m not going to jeopardize my brothers and my wife that way.”

I’m not willing to completely ruin this new life over Raul. However, I’m not above being a sneaky asshole either, and I possibly could have had something to do with putting a bug into one or more of Raul’s men’s ears that he needed to go.

“I wouldn’t think so,” he grunts.

“But that makes the contract null and void, right?” I ask. “Considering he was the one it was with. Not necessarily the entire Dead Phoenix.”

Legacy lets out a chuckle, as if he can’t believe I’m really asking this, but I am, because like I said, I may not have done it, but I’m happy as fuck that it’s done.

“Technically,” he murmurs.

“Good,” I state. “It was the last bit we needed gone to become completely legit,” I state.

“That it was.”

Legacy ends the call, and I ask Piper to come over here. She moves slowly, her eyes wide as she watches me. She stands just a few inches from me. Reaching out, I wrap my hands around her waist as I tug her against my body.

“Raul is gone,” I say, keeping my voice low.

Her eyes are wide, blinking a few times, then she lets out a sigh. “Thank god,” she murmurs. “Freedom.”

I never truly thought about how she felt about her brother. I knew she didn’t love him. However, I wasn’t sure how she felt about him still doing business.

I cup her cheek. “I love you, baby,” I rasp. “Proud of you.”

“For what?” she asks.

“For everything. For being you.”

Without another word, I press my lips to hers in a kiss. No other words need to be spoken. I love her. I’m proud of her. Raul is gone, and now we never have to look over our shoulders again, because I’ve gotten rid of every fucking demon that could ever be at her back.

And if another one appears, I’ll get rid of that one, too.

A Devil’s Hellions MC Novel

Book Four

Chapter One

AGONY

Liftingthe bottle to my lips, I take a gulp, hissing as the liquid burns my throat. Gone. Up and fucking disappeared. Gone. I should have known that nothing good happens to me. And she was all kinds of good.

Like the fucking idiot I am, I fell in goddamn love with a woman who could never love me back. She warned me, told me over and over that she couldn’t love me, wouldn’t either. She wasn’t the type to commit. She wanted fun and only fun.

I thought I could handle that. I’ve never known anything other than a good fuck, good food, and good smoke. It’s all I thought I needed in life.
