Shifting my attention down the line of the bar, I find Kyle. His back is to me, his head tipped slightly, and he looks great—even bent over the bar he’s hot.

Turning back to my water, I shift my focus to the label, staring at it as if it’s going to give me some kind of answer to the major questions of life. The chair across from me moves, and I jerk my head backward, lifting it to see that Agony is sitting across from me, the chair turned backward as he straddles it.

I don’t know him well, but as he watches me, I wonder what he’s doing here. I press my lips together, my eyes wide as I stare at him for a silent moment. He clears his throat before he reaches out and taps the table in front of me.

“Got a question,” he begins.

Staring at him, I bite the inside of my cheek as I wait for whatever it is he has a question about.

“Reese say anything to you about me?” he asks.

My eyes widen, and I clear my throat. “No, she hasn’t.”

It’s the truth. Reese doesn’t talk about Agony. She doesn’t even really mention him. I know they have a thing. I’ve seen her here more times than I can count. They havesomethinggoing on, and I thought she really liked him and maybe he was keeping her at arm’s length because of the other women in the club or his manhood or something.

But now that I’m sitting across from him, I wonder if it’s her who is keeping him at arm’s length.

He clears his throat, then stands to his feet. He taps the table with his finger before he takes a step backward. “Thanks, babe.”

I watch as Agony moves away from the table and toward one of the sweet butts. I shift my gaze away, not wanting to see this man who just asked me if another woman said anything about him, who is obviously into this other woman, touch a different one.

I’m aware that this is their world, their culture, but it doesn’t make it comfortable. And I want so much for Reese and Agony to find happiness together. I’m not sure she would even care that he was with someone else. It doesn’t seem like she’s ready for a commitment with him, at least not from what I’ve seen, but still.

“Flower,” a deep voice rumbles from beside me.

I know that voice. I don’t even have to guess at who it belongs to. It’s only been a short time, but it’s seared into my brain, and I love it.

Swinging my attention from Agony and whatever sweet butt he’s saddled up with, I look and see Kyle standing in front of me. I give him a smile and ignore the expression he’s wearing. I’m not sure what’s wrong, but I’m pretty sure that something is bothering him.

“Kyle,” I exhale as I stand from my seat.

His expression shifts slightly, his eyes searching mine and holding my own. He lifts his hand to cup my cheek before he leans down and brushes his lips across mine. My breath hitches at the feel of his warm lips pressed against mine.

Lifting my arms, I wrap them around his neck and lean forward, pressing my body against his. I wish I could get closer, that I could crawl inside of him. He grunts against my mouth, lifting his head slightly as his arms shifts so he’s wrapping them around me.

“Let’s have a drink, play some pool, and relax,” he suggests.

I dip my chin in a slight nod, giving him a smile that I hope he thinks is genuine. Honestly, I want to go home, crawl into bed, and sleep. But I don’t tell him that. The last thing I want to do is disappoint him in any way.

So, I smile.

And when he takes a step backward, I reach out for his hand. His fingers curl around mine before he guides us over to the pool table.

ITCH

My head is bumpin’, but it’s not as bad as it was the other day after the wedding. I had a good time, but I did not get trashed. And I’m glad for it. Spending the evening getting to know my wife was good. She’s good. Too good for the likes of me, but at the same time, I feel like she fits me—wholly.

Lifting my hand, I run my fingers through her hair. She’s sleeping against my chest, her soft breaths blowing against my skin with her exhales. Her arm tightens around my waist as she moves a bit closer to me, and I try to fight my cock from growing hard, but I’m a lost goddamn cause, especially because it’s her.

Piper lets out a sigh as I continue to glide my fingers through her hair but start to travel down farther and farther with each stroke, my fingers eventually slipping to the globe of her ass. She lifts her head, her sleepy eyes finding mine. I watch as her lips slowly curve up into a grin.

“Good morning,” I murmur.

My voice sounds gruff even to my own ears, but it doesn’t seem to bother her. Her expression is sweet and even sleepy, her gaze searching my own.

“Morning,” she breathes.

Fuck me, but I want nothing more than for her to bounce on my dick and ride me this very goddamn second. Reaching for her thigh, unable to wait even another second, I pull it over my hips. The rest of her body follows until she’s straddling me.
