“I don’t want to know how you got all of that information in just seconds,” I mutter.

He chuckles. “Where are we meeting? I need to go to a club and get laid. Dinner with Mom and Dad always fucks me up.”

I don’t ask him why. I know it’s because he’s the baby, and he feels as if he can’t live up to me and Coleman’s shadows or some shit. But he doesn’t see it yet, doesn’t realize that he is without a doubt the smartest member of the family right now, especially when it comes to this tech shit. Computers, research, intel in general. He will, though. He will come into himself. He’s just young. Soon, he’ll realize how much value he has.

“We’re going to Club Nova,” I reply.

He clears his throat. “Why there?” he asks.

Though, I can tell he already knows. He’s probably got a tracker on me or some shit. I wouldn’t put it past him at all. Actually, I wouldn’t put it past my fucking dad. Mainly because I don’t put shit past Dad.

“You know why,” I grind out.

“I got dibs on the blonde,” he says with a chuckle.

“May have to fight Coleman for her,” I say.

He growls, but he doesn’t say anything. He ends the call, and I stay in my car, waiting for them to show up. Hendrick must call Coleman because less than five minutes later, I see both of their cars pulling into the parking lot and parking on either side of mine.

I chose, and always choose, the farthest spot away to give me plenty of room and ambiguity. They do the same, taught to us by our father, by the family. When they turn their engines off, I open my door and unfold from the car.

The three of us adjust the jackets of our suits, and together, we make our way toward the door. One foot in front of the other, past the line of mediocre people waiting to enter. They won’t gain entrance. It is not for them. They’d be better off going to a sports bar or something.

“Your name on the list?” the bouncer asks as we approach him.

Coleman takes a step forward, his eyes boring into the bouncer’s. “Do we look like we need our names anywhere or that we’d even give you our names?” he asks.

The bouncer flicks his gaze to each of us, then, without saying a word, shifts to the side and allows us to pass through. Wordlessly, we walk through the club. I don’t look for Parker, even though that is all I want to do. Instead, we make our way to the bar and order drinks.

Women and men both watch us as we move across the floor. We’re on everyone’s radar. It’s not lost on me that not only do my brothers and I exude a sense of power and masculinity along with an air of mystery that most people are drawn to, but we are also not bad looking.

The people who have been hovering around the bar move away as soon as we arrive. There’s something about the men we are. It’s as if they know without a doubt that we could kill them all in about five seconds if we wanted to. Not that we would, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that we very wellcould.

“Help you?” the bartender asks.

“Three Pappy Van Winkles, neat,” I call out, ordering three whiskeys for me and my brothers.

The bartender jerks his chin before he turns his back to us and begins to prepare our drinks. Turning around, I face the dance floor, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. I know she’ll stand out to me. Those big green eyes of hers are unmistakable.

“You know what you’re looking for?” Coleman asks, turning, he hands me a glass of whiskey.

I take a drink as I scan the room, then I find her. A blonde and a brunette. The blonde wearing a bright-red dress that screams for attention. The brunette wearing a simple black dress that is a little shorter and tighter than I would prefer she go out in alone, although I know I technically have zero fucking say about that… yet.

“That’s them,” I say over the thumping bass of the music.

Hendrick whistles, and before I can tell them anything else, he’s gone. I watch as he moves toward the women. There is a light that shines in the middle of the dance floor, and it’s almost as if it highlights just the two women.

“I’d peg you for wanting the blonde,” Coleman states.

Turning from the women, I look at him. He’s watching them with a disinterested gaze. It’s almost as if he is staring in their direction but doesn’t see them. He doesn’t see anything, and I know he’s still thinking about the woman he broke it off with and Dad’s demands. Plus, the woman he’s going to choose. He’s got a lot to think about. Picking the wrong woman could be a fucking nightmare.

“Something about the brunette’s eyes,” I mutter.

“If you want her, then you better get over there because the hungry animals have started circling.”

Shifting my attention back to the dance floor, I see exactly what Coleman is talking about. There are four hungry wolves, and they all have eyes on my woman. She’s tempting. Her body sways to the music like a gazelle, enticing the beasts to a feast.

Except they won’t get her. They are nothing but hyenas.
