“Hey, don’t forget that you kissed me back. So it’s not all my fault! And I don’t know… maybe he’ll take one look at our faces and know what we were doing.”

Aryan rolled his eyes at the unnecessary drama.

“Calm down, Jessie. It was just a kiss. Nothing to get your panties in a twist about.”

As soon as the words left his lips, Aryan would have given up both his kidneys to get them back. He might not have had much experience with women, but even he knew that he had wedged his size nine foot into his mouth spectacularly.

Jessie turned to him slowly, her eyes like chips of brown ice.

“You’re right, Aryan. It was just a boring little kiss. Still, I need to get dressed. So I want you out of my room now. Out! Out!”

She started pushing him towards the window again.

“Jessie, stop! We’re on the second floor. I’m not going to jump out of the window just because you’re afraid of your brother,” reasoned Aryan.

Jessie growled at that, a low sound that scared the crap out of Aryan.

“I’m not afraid of anyone! I just don’t want you in my room. I don’t care if you break both your legs or even your bloody neck. In fact, I hope you break all three. Get out,” she shrieked.

Aryan broke free of her hold and pushed her away.

“Have you lost your mind?”

“I must have if I kissedyouof all people,” she sneered.

That stung like hell, but Aryan didn’t so much as blink.

He had been such a fool to feel bad for this self-centred brat, he thought angrily.

“Fine! I’ll leave, but I’m not climbing out the window like a thief,” he said, stalking towards the door.

He was angry enough to take on Veer and his whole security detail if they tried to stop him.

At the door, he spun around and pointed a finger at her.

“And for your information, there was nothing boring about that kiss,” he hissed.

Jessie pretended to yawn.

“It was as boring as your lectures. Remind me to bring a book along, next time,” she retorted.

“There won’t be a next time, you viper. I’d rather kiss a chimpanzee first.”

“I’m sure you have a lot of experience doing that, considering your recent dating history,” she said snidely.

“Don’t you drag Arshia into this! She’s a perfectly nice girl…”

“…who’s nothing but a big fat liar,” shrieked Jessie.

“She didn’t lie about your cheating fiancé, and she’s not big or fat. She’s … she’s gorgeous,” he exclaimed and then ducked to avoid the vase that she threw at his head.

They both stared in horror as the vase hit the door and shattered.

Jessie sank into a chair slowly and started hyperventilating.

“My mother will kill me,” she whispered.

Aryan took one step towards her and put out a hand beseechingly.
