“The water comes in from the borewell that we stumbled upon a few years ago,” Artie explains. “And I heat it up with my trusted portable water heater.”

He pulls out a small oval-shaped device from his drawer. “Runs on batteries. It runs out after every use so we use it wisely.”

“And this calls for it?”

“For you?” Artie says, furnishing a bow. “Anything, milady.”

I chuckle at his antics. He leads me out the door, downstairs where there’s no sign of either Ollie or Ed.

“Where are they?” I ask.

Artie looks out the window. “The storm has subsided a bit. They’ve probably gone out to check on the generator. It runs on fuel, and runs out every other day.”

I walk up to Artie. “Do you think the roads are going to clear up soon?”

“Do you want to leave?” His words hold a touch of sadness.

I don’t know what to say. Before I can reply, there’s a thud at the back of the house.

“You go check up on them,” Artie says. “I’ll set up the bath.”

“Sounds wonderful,” I say.

Ed and Ollie walk in through the door, their fur jackets covered in a layer of snow. Ollie takes his boots off and rushes toward me. He leans me back before kissing me roughly.

I giggle into his mouth before kissing him back.

Ed watches us, licking his lips before he walks past me. Ollie straightens me. “Missed you, beautiful.”

I blush, ducking my head. I know I’m average-looking, but these brothers who look like the epitome of virile Vikings make me feel like I’m the prettiest girl in the world.

“Are you hungry?” Ed asks. It’s his way of making sure I’m okay. I notice the way his gaze lingers on my neck, at the marks he left there, claiming his possession.

Ollie notices as well. “I didn’t know we were allowed to mark you like that.”

“Jesus, she’s a human being,” Ed says, shaking his head as he shrugs off his jacket.

“Looks like you forgot that last night,” Ollie says, smirking.

“Guys, I’m fine, and Ed was great. He made me feel good,” I say. “That’s bound to leave a mark.”

I peek at Ed, and see a soft smile curve his mouth. Artie is right. Ed is slowly shedding his tough exterior and coming around.

“Well, I’ll leave a mark on you and bring you some Swedish sausage I got in the market last week,” Ollie says. “Found them this morning and they haven’t gone bad which is a miracle.”

As he heads into the kitchen, Ed walks over to me. He clears his throat. “I know I may have been a bit rough.”

“Are you kidding me?” I say. “It was the best. I’ve always dreamed of being taken roughly like that.”

His brows rise. “What else have you dreamed of?”

“I’ll tell you,” I say, smiling at him coyly.

He smirks at me. I love the way he smiles. It’s a rare occurrence, and it transforms his face entirely, the harsh lines giving way to the softer features that make him achingly handsome.

“I have something for you,” he says. He walks over to the coffee table and brings something to me. It’s a black moleskin notebook. I thumb through the pages. It looks like it was freshly made and sewn together.

“Did you make this?” I ask in awe.
