Brendan was left speechless, and his heart throbbed. “I… Thank you. Thank you for everything. I’m really gonna try to be a good husband. Mate. Person. Your person. I want to make you happy.”

“You already have.” Seba kissed him.

The kiss lingered on until they were both out of breath again, and Seba took his time bathing Brendan. Brendan bathed Seba too, drawing little circles in his fur with the bubbles and enjoying the unexpected tenderness with which Seba caressed him. He’d never felt so close to anyone, especially so quickly. His stomach was fluttering with excitement as Seba carried him out of the pool to rub him down with soft towels and then massage perfumed oil into his skin.

Seba presented Brendan with a necklace, an elaborate golden collar made up of thousands of tiny glittering beads with a blue scarab at its center. The beads mimicked outstretched wings, as if the scarab was taking flight around Brendan’s neck, and the mere act of wearing something so grand was dizzying.

Brendan gasped when Seba showed him his reflection in a polished bronze mirror, and he hardly recognized himself. Seba had painted Brendan’s eyes in the traditional Egyptian style with shimmering black paint and rubbed scented wax in his hair that made it shine like gold, and Brendan had never felt so beautiful.

Seba smiled over his shoulder, meeting his eyes in the mirror as he said, “Brendan, my Sun, you are positively glowing.”

Brendan spun around to hug Seba’s waist. “I’m so happy. This is like a fairy tale. A dream come true.”

Seba let out a delighted chirp and crushed Brendan against him in a tight embrace. “I am very happy as well.” He nuzzled Brendan’s hair and then sweetly kissed his brow. “There is one last gift I have for you.”

“Another one?”

“Yes!” Seba kissed his forehead once more before slipping away to open a small golden chest that had appeared at the foot of the bed. He turned around to present Brendan with a pair of golden cuffs. They were adorned with countless jewels in the shape of scarabs, crafted in the same intricate pattern as that of the golden collar. “It would please me greatly if you wore these.”

“Those… are for me?”

“If you like them, yes!” Seba offered one out toward Brendan.

“I love them.” Brendan let Seba slide the cuff on his wrist, and he gasped at the perfect fit. The other fit just as well, as if they’d been made for him. He touched each cuff and then the necklace, and his hands were trembling. “Th-thank you.”

Seba was smiling adoringly, and he kissed Brendan’s cheek. “You are truly my Sun, Brendan. My one and only.”

“I… I guess if I’m your Sun, that makes you my Stars, doesn’t it?”

“Yes.” Seba’s eyes were damp. “Yes, I will be your Stars.” He bowed his head to rest their foreheads together as he took Brendan’s hands. “My beautiful Sun, you have been worth the wait.”

Brendan didn’t have the words to express how much that meant to him. Knowing that he was desired by such an amazing and impossible beast, a literal god, made his eyes hot and his soul ache. He took what he couldn’t say and tried to put it into a kiss, pressing his lips to Seba’s with a soft groan.

Seba held him as if he was the most precious thing in the world, and Brendan’s heart skipped over itself. There was no doubt in his mind—this was precisely where he was meant to be.

Brendan came up for air, grinning wide as he asked, “So, what’s next? Does this mean we’re married yet?”

“Almost.” Seba chuckled. “Traditionally, we would consummate our union and then move into one home that we would share.”

“Oh, okay. How about we consummate and then we figure out if we’re going back to my crappy apartment or staying here in your magical safe place?”

Seba laughed. “My Sun, I could not trap you down here with me. We must go where you can shine.” He hugged Brendan tight. “I will follow you wherever you wish to go.”

“O-oh! Well! All right.” Brendan grinned. “I am gonna need a bigger bed.” He kissed Seba, arching into Seba’s chest as the kiss quickly heated up. He was surrounded by Seba’s warm fur, the scent of the rich oils, and he moaned when Seba cupped his ass. “Mmm, amuchbigger bed.”

“I can assist you with that. I have a very large bed,” Seba pointed out, as if that fact was possible to miss. He carried Brendan over to said bed, kissing him deeper and licking into his mouth as he stretched him out across the soft sheets. “Whatever you wish, my Sun, will be yours.”

“You. Just you.” Brendan hugged his legs around Seba’s waist, smiling up at him. He loved how big Seba felt on top of him, and the anticipation of sex was hot and heavy, charging the air of the ancient room.

Seba growled softly, his hips rolling down to meet Brendan’s in a gentle thrust. “I will need to get you ready for me, my Sun.”

“Ready, right. Because your cock is the size of my arm,” Brendan teased, though there was a nervousness in his voice he couldn’t hide. He’d seen that dick and he knew this was going to take some real magic.

Seba’s ears flicked back, and he nuzzled Brendan’s cheek. “You are worried.”

“Maybe. It depends. Do you have godly lube?”

“If you do not wish to take all of me, there are many other things we can do.”
