“Why did you let her put it on my bed?” Paul glares at me.

“I didn’t even know about the bear until this morning.”

Everyone at the table freezes and stares at me like I’ve said something really weird.

“What?”

“So, wait,” Carp starts. “Neither of you let her in the room, but the bear was in there?”

Oh.

“How did she get in?” Willis asks.

“Ding ding ding!” the cute dark-haired guy sitting next to Carp says. “What do we have for him, Johnny?”

“Who’s Johnny?” I ask, and he laughs. But seriously, who’s Johnny?

“Does she have a key to your room?” Carp tosses out.

“I don’t think so? How would she have gotten that?” I shove more food in my mouth and groan when the salty, crispy fries hit my tongue. These would be better with cheese and bacon, but fuck, they’re so good.

“Do you guys make sure to lock the door when you leave?” Carp looks at me, and he’s not wrong for the assumption.

“Sometimes I forget,” I mumble around my fries, and he sighs.

“Well, we have to go to Vegas tomorrow, so make sure your door is locked.”

Carp and his friend share a look, and it's so quick I almost missed it, but they are so fucking, and I can’t wait to tell someone, so I pull out my phone and type out a message to Paul.

MENACE: Cap is doing the dude he’s sitting next to.

Paul’s phone vibrates on the table, and he looks at it confused but picks it up.

P DADDY: Nick? How do you know that?

Nick! That’s his name. Paul is so much better with names than me.

MENACE: They had a LOOK.

Paul sighs and shakes his head, then shoves his phone in his pocket. Jerk.

The bus ride to UNLV is long as fuck, especially with Brendon next to me touching me at every fucking opportunity. Coach gives out room assignments, we get our bags, and head to drop our shit off before we all head out to find food. I remembered to bring a bag of snacks for Brendon, but I want real food. I’m on the fourth floor with Louis, the first line left winger, Jeremy and Brendon are together on the third floor, while Preston is on the fifth floor with Willis. Someone is switching rooms, and it's probably Willis and Jeremy.

In the elevator, they switch keys, and I smirk. Called it.

I’m disappointed not to be rooming with Brendon, but it is what it is. I’m sure Willis will beg me to change rooms with him by tomorrow. My boyfriend will go out of his way to annoy his roommate until he snaps, and I honestly can’t wait.

Louis gets the door open, and I follow him in, dropping my bags on the bed closest to the door since he took the other.

“You going out for food?” he asks, rearranging his bags the way he wants them.

“Yeah, if I don’t get something in my stomach, I’m going to punch someone.”

He chuckles but nods. “I feel ya, but I don’t want to sit ever again. My ass is numb from the damn bus ride.”
