“I don’t see nothin’,” Axel replied.

“Me neither, but we can’t be too fucking careful now.”

“Maybe it was lightning,” Sage offered.

All three men turned back to her, and she held up her glass. “Cheers.”

She tossed back the whiskey and ignored the burn.

Axel, Raven, and Clint took their glasses and did the same.

Now all Sage had to do was wait sixty seconds.

It was the longest minute of her life.

SAGE

“Get naked, bitch,” Raven demanded and began to undo his belt.

Sage slipped off her leather jacket, then her top. Slowly.

Hopefully they thought it was seductive even thought it was all about buying time.

“I picked her up at the Flamingo. She’s one of the Hellraisers’ leftovers,” Axel announced. He poured a mound of coke onto the counter and used a knife to line it up. Then he pulled a bill out of his pocket, rolled it and took a long sniff. “God, that shit is so fucking good.”

Raven looked at her with narrowed eyes. “You’re a sweet butt?”

“I was. Had a fight with my ol’ man and he left me at the bar. Fucking prick.”

“What the fuck, Ax?” Raven yelled. “You know better than that. Why’d you bring this skank here?”

“Thought we could have our fun and then finish her off.” Axel chuckled, and Sage froze. “Teach those Hellraiser bastards another lesson. And look at her, she has no…no…no fucking idea what she’s walked into. Shit, my mouth feels weird.”

Axel shook his head.

Clint sat down but he missed the stool and fell to the floor. And stayed there.

Sage glanced up at Raven and noticed that he was swaying.

Thank fuck that drug – whatever it was – was quick acting.

“Fucking hell,” Raven gasped and reached for Sage, but he stumbled and fell to his knees. “What did you…you…bitch.” Then he slumped on the floor.

Axel’s body seized and he face planted on the counter with a loud thud, coke powder spilling everywhere.

Sage wasted no time.

Grabbing her shirt and jacket, she whipped them back on. Then she searched the bikers’ pockets and withdrew their phones and keys. She’d look through the phones later for details, for now she had to work quickly. Pocketing the phones, she attempted to get the men talking.

Sage slapped Raven’s face. “Where’s Padraig’s place?”

Raven’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot. “Padraig.”

“Where does he live?”

“Back…cabin. Black door…Black.”
