“Yes, because right now we’re both very emotional. Everything is changing, but what will happen when the baby is here and this life becomes our normal? What if you jump the gun now, but realize you don’t want me anymore after?”

“Pina, that won’t happen.”

“Your secret is out.” I reminded him. “You don’t need me to calm your demons anymore because you slayed them all on your own. In a few months I won’t carry your child anymore. Will I still be what you want then, or will I return to being that girl that never got your attention? I just want to be sure. I love you too much to get into a marriage that you might end up resenting.”

Garon exhaled deeply, emptying his lungs.

“I can’t convince you with my words, so we’ll just have to wait, I guess.”

“Thank you.” Despite the tightness in my lip, I pressed my mouth on his and kissed him.

He always tasted amazing, all man and danger but with a sweetness lingering in his kiss. I just couldn’t get enough of it, no matter how many times I got to feel him.

The innocent gesture soon ignited a fire in my entire body and I straddled him, rocking my hips on top of his erection. He was big and hard and I could feel the heat coming from his cock even through his pants.

“I want you.” I whispered. We needed this. I wanted to feel him inside me, feel him love my body, so we could finally move on.

“You have me,Piccolina. Tell me what your body needs.”

My nipples tightened and I started feeling my panties soaking.

“Your mouth on my breasts. And your hands on me. And you buried deep inside me while you come.”

The corner of his mouth shot up to uncover half a smile.

“Eager little thing. The pregnancy turned you into a nympho.”

“No, it’s all you. You are so goddamn good looking, I can’t help but walk around all sex crazed, waiting for the next time I get to enjoy you naked.”

Garon laughed. “Why didn’t you say so? We would have spent much more time in bed.”

“Take me to bed now.”

He scooped me up and ran up the stairs to our bedroom. We made love all night and we both noticed the difference. It didn’t feel like before. This time our souls were deep in it, merging together while our bodies become one. For the first time I discovered what pure, unfiltered, unbound happiness felt like.

Chapter 18

“Four more months until the baby is here.” Grazia clapped her hands. “Are you ready?”

“I am. Things settled down and Garon and I are in a good place. Actually, I can’t wait to meet her.”

Grazia was on babysitting duty today and she stopped by with Giovani’s older children. Having them around all morning really made me feel excited to see my own baby girl run around the house someday.

Victoria, Grazia’s niece, came close and let her little head fall on my shoulder.

“Pina, what are you going to name the baby?”

“Oh, I don’t know yet. Your uncle and I can’t agree on it.”

“If you can’t then I can come up with a name.” She simply said. “She has to have a name.”

“You’re right.” I giggled and kissed her nose. “Why don’t you make a list and we can look over it together.”

“Yes!” Her eyes got round and sparkled with excitement. “Yes! Yes!” She kept chanting and started looking through her backpack for a pen and paper so she could start.

Meanwhile, Victoria’s brother, Emiliano, was racing around trying to see if he can run faster than Panini. With two kids in the house quiet was definitely not an option, but I loved the chaos they brought.

I looked across the table at Grazia and winked.
