“So, what do we do now?” Ava asked.

Ben stopped by his car and looked at everyone. “I don’t know what you all are doing, but I’m going to get Abbi.”

Mark noticed Kim stood there staring off into space not saying a word. He snapped his fingers in front of her face. “Kim are you in there?” he asked.

“Ah I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” Dean warned just as Kim swatted Mark’s hand away.

“Don’t talk to me when I’m staring! It means I’m thinking.”

Mark put his hands up to ward off the evil eye she was currently casting his way and mumbled, “Sorry.”

Turning away from him, she looked at Ben. “You can’t go alone. You have no idea how many people are there, or the type of person you might come up against.”

Ben shoved a hand through his hair. “What do you propose I do? Wait here until morning for the cavalry to arrive and hope like hell Abbi’s signal doesn’t move or worse go offline?” He shook his head. “No, I’m not waiting. You’re welcome to join me, but I’m leaving now just so you know.”

“I’m coming,” Ava said, running around to the passenger side of his car, she got in.

“Anyone else?” Ben asked.

“Me.” Luke stepped forward and got into the backseat.

“I’ll come too,” Kim said.

“No, you go with Mark and look for Lane and Desi,” Dean said. “I’ll go with them.”

“But—”

“No buts, when you find them, meet us over at the farm.”

“Why can’t I go with you guys?”

“Honestly?” Luke asked. “Aunt Kim, we need to be quiet and you’re really... not. Here take my phone and find Lane.”

Kim begrudgingly took it from him and said, “I can be, if I have to.”

Mark burst out laughing. “No, you can’t! You screamed like a banshee when you thought you saw a vampire. Or did you forget?”

“No, I didn’t forget, nor did I forget that you were screaming like a little girl on a roller coaster.”

Ben pinched the bridge of his nose then looked at the bickering duo. “Okay then, you too can reminisce, we are leaving.” He climbed behind the steering wheel while Dean got into the back seat with Luke. He started the engine and rolled down his window as he backed up. “Meet us there,” he called out as he put it into drive and pulled away.

Ben looked into the rear-view mirror and made eye contact with Dean. “You wouldn’t happen to have your gun on you, would you?”

Dean patted his jean jacket, a sly smile appeared on his lips, “Always.”

MARK AND KIM CLIMBEDinto his pickup truck and were putting on their seatbelts when another truck pulled up alongside them, stopped and rolled down the window.

“Hey you two. What shenanigans are you up to now?”

They both looked over and saw Tim Steel, Abbi’s friend from high school, who also just happened to be a cop from Kim and Abbi’s hometown.

“Tim! How was the drive up here?” Mark grinned.

“Long, very long. Traffic from Windsor was crazy. So, Dean told me Abbi is missing?”

Kim bobbed her head up and down. “And so are Lane and Desi.”
