I chuckle and ask, “You want the truth?”

She nodded, pulling a water bottle from the fridge, she twisted the cap off. “That would help.”

“I have no clue. One minute I was napping in a hammock and the next I’m falling. Once I landed, God said to head to the cabin because I was needed, that she needed me. Which I now know is, you.”

“I don’t need you,” she said, tipping the bottle to her lips.

Despite her words cutting through me like a knife I watch in awe as the muscles of her throat work and instantly picture her sucking on my dick, swallowing my jizz. Hoping to make my vision a reality I start to think of how I can break down the wall that she has so carefully erected around herself, when a snap, crackle and pop has me looking at the fireplace.

“What the fuck is that?” I mutter, as the fire in it intensifies, its flames taking on an otherworldly hue. It was as if the very air in the room had become charged with an unexplained energy. In disbelief, I watch as a golden chest appears above the flames. Ava begins to walk towards it, but I snag her arm. “No. Don’t go near that.”

“Why not?” She looks at me dumfounded as I shove her behind me.

“Because you don’t know what the hell it is.”

She pushes me aside and looks at me. “Don’t ever touch me again or I’ll sic the dog on you.” She flips her long blonde hair over her shoulder, and it smacks me in the face, and I instantly feel my dick stiffen as her scent washes over me. And it’s in that moment I realize I won’t be satisfied until she’s mine once again. The only thing stopping that from happening is her newfound hatred of me. Challenge accepted!

Chapter 5

AVA

––––––––

IGO OVER TO THE CHESTthat I know Satan has sent and watch as it falls to the floor with a bang. It’s glowing red, hot and steaming. Just as I reach for the ornate latch, Noah grabs my shoulder.

“Don’t touch that!” he says, yanking me back.

I glower at him but say nothing.

He has the decency to look ashamed for his outburst. “What? You don’t know what it is.”

I fold my arms across my chest. “Do I need to remind you where I’ve spent the last ten years?” Dropping my arms, I turn back to see that it is still steaming, although the angry red it was, is now fading away. “That’s a chest from Hell.” Walking over to it, I squat down, and flip open one of the latches. “And if I’m not mistaken, it’s my orders from Satan.”

“Yourwhat?”

I glance at him over my shoulder and say, “Look, I have no clue why you were dumped here, but I’m here on a mission,” I said, flipping the other latch.
