I could never picture her not solving crimes. Working in a science museum, figuring out what artifacts are important, and identifying bones that date back hundreds of years ago. "What made you want to work at a museum?" I ask while we get into the car.

Once we're settled in, with our seat belts on, she answers. "I guess the people. I love teaching others the ins and outs of forensics. It has become a sort of feeling at home. I also would love to be a role model to children that come in there. The pay is also a hundred times better, especially for senior positions. And I'm not looking for murderers, not really pressured by other people to find immediate answers."

I guess that makes sense, but I couldn't imagine her not being down in that lab.

"I've also wanted to work out of the country at a museum. To get out of work and see something pretty instead of D.C., Maybe France or Italy. But I wouldn't want to leave my sister until she gets massive in her business."

"There's always a crime in other countries, too. Lots of law enforcement everywhere." Did I just basically tell her that I would move across the country for her? I would do it hands-down, though. It would probably be the best decision I ever made, too.

She laughs, "I call your bluff."

I just started to pull out of the spot, but I stopped to look her in her beautiful eyes. "I would follow you anywhere. I hope you can see me being truthful in that."

She inhales deeply. "Why?"

"Because I see a future with you."

"Then why now? Why kiss me in that conference room now? Why not years ago when I started working here?"

"You were always busy getting settled in. I didn't want to

creep on you. I figured you would take the hints that I gave."

"The hints?" I pull out of the parking garage and start to go to my house to get the blanket.

"I gave some subtle hints, staring at you, winking, stuff like that."

She laughs, "I always figured the winking was you having something in your eye. I must be blind to not having seen your hints. I'm sorry, I was always interested, too, if I'm going to be honest. I mean, you are hot as hell, so."

"And you are, too." I look at her to wink. She turns up the radio, and Nicki Minaj starts to play. She starts singing, and she's still singing while we pull up to my house.

"I'll be right back, don't go anywhere."

"Wasn't planning on it, this thing is comfy."

I leave her waiting in the car to go grab this blanket. Walking up my steps, I see the mail person already has come, so I can bring that stuff in now, too. I hate leaving my mail outside, especially

being an agent. People are always trying to find out your weaknesses. Especially some of the gang members that I helped lock up. Turning my key in the door, I quickly grab the blanket that I keep in my hallway closet. I bring it to family functions for the little ones to hang out on, but it will be perfect for Daph and me. Walking back out, I see her playing on her phone. I think she's playing a game because she's concentrating so hard on her screen.

"Whatcha doing on that thing?" I ask as I get in and shut the door behind me. I start the engine and whip out onto the street.

"Playing Solitaire." I'm not sure what I thought she was playing, but a game for the elderly was not one of them.

"Isn't that a game favored by people twice your age?"

"So, what, it's actually a strategy game and really fun to play. I try to beat my best time every day. I'm down to finishing a game in two minutes and five seconds. My goal is to get it down to one minute and thirty seconds. But it mainly depends on the deal of the cards."

"I've never played."

"Huh, what? You've never played the greatest game of all time?"

"Hey now, I wouldn't call that the greatest game when Call of Duty exists."

"Oh god, you're one of those."

"One of what?"

"The people that probably stay up until three in the morning slamming their controllers and throwing stuff."
