I open the door for her and grab the picnic blanket and the takeout that got left behind. I find a trash can and throw it out. Now I need a new picnic blanket because if I see it again, I'll probably come in my pants. I hop in the driver's seat and start to pull out of

there on my way to Daphne's place.

Chapter Eleven

Daphne

I didn't think that I could ever be this happy. Don't get me wrong, I am sore as hell and will probably be in pain for the rest of the day, but that was something else. Archer leaves the park to go to my apartment. He completely destroyed my lace underwear. But I wore them hoping that he would see them, so that plan worked.

We drove for about ten minutes, listening to music and singing. When we pull next to my apartment, I get out to run upstairs to change. I unlock my door and go to the bathroom first. I need comfortable underwear for the rest of the day. My vagina will thank me. I quickly grab my comfiest pair, pull them on, and go back outside. Archers on the phone with someone when I get in the car.

"Okay, we're on our way back." He hangs up his phone. "Nisa said someone came in and confessed to Rory's murder."

"Holy shit." I was not expecting him to say that.

"Yeah, holy shit. She wants me to interview the guy. I guess

he wasn't anyone that we were looking into. I mean, he might have been on the hospital list that hasn't been looked at yet. She said she was wary of believing him. But I'll get to the bottom of it."

"Do you think the guys telling the truth? I mean, how could someone just walk in and say that they brutally tortured then killed someone."

"I'm not sure. But one thing that will get him is whether or not he knows exactly what happened to Rory. Can you watch the interview? In case he says details about the body that I haven't seen."

"Okay, I can do that. You don't think we smell like sex, right?"

"Well, if we do, then everyone will know you're mine." He winks at me.

"Last I can remember, you did no such thing as ask me to be yours." I'm playing with him, knowing that I'm probably screwed for life from that moment in the park. I'm never going to find someone else like him.

"Daphne, do you want to be mine? Because you already have

me."

Do we make this official? It's so early, too early, maybe. But I can admit I always made terrible choices. "Yes. I want to be yours."

"Then it's settled." He grabs my thigh and gives me a squeeze as we continue our way to the office.

Twenty minutes later, we pulled back into the parking spot that Archer's car was in. Traffic set us back a bit, but we made it here in time. Also, it's always good to let the person sit in the cell to show what their actions can cause. Especially if this guy is lying. He won't be comfy in our cell, let alone in a prison competing with hundreds of other prisoners. We get out of the car and head to the elevator. Archer pulls out his badge to show it on the scanner, and it opens for us.

"You sure you work here?"

I roll my eyes, "Shush up. Too bad this elevator has cameras. It would be a perfect spot for some fascinating events."

"There's also a microphone in here." He smirks at me.

"You're no fun." I fake pout.

He presses the button where the interviews happen. In all my years here, I've only been up here a couple of times. And I've only watched a few interviews. Mainly ones that they needed someone extra to help profile the person. The elevator stops, the doors opening. I've never seen this floor so crowded. We step out into a mass of agents. They are all talking about the guy who came in to confess. Oh boy, sounds like Archer is in for a fun interview.

We find Nisa. "What took you two so long?"

"Nisa, you know that traffic sucks."

"Mhm." She gives us a knowing look. Oh shit. How could she know already? It's been like five minutes. But then again, she is on top of everyone in here, so her profiling skills are exceptional. We're screwed.

Archer interrupts, "Where is the guy?"
