"You two act like how me and my sister used to act."

"What's your sister's name?" Cor asks him.

"Alicia, my mom was one of those parents that liked to keep the same letter for names. To me, she's crazy, but I guess we could've had worse names."

"I don't know 'Archer' is pretty bad." I tease.

"How dare you? That's a classic name for a classy guy." I roll my eyes.

Cordelia gets a phone call and excuses herself while answering the phone, "Is something wrong with the design?" Well, this was a nice date while it lasted. I look at Archer, and Cor is definitely suitable to stare. He's in a navy blue suit, and with his arms on the table, it seems like he can almost bust out of it.

"Thank you for answering my sisters' ridiculous questions."

He reaches up to tuck a hair behind my ear. "They weren't ridiculous, as long as I passed the test that she was giving me. She's done with this lunch, I'm assuming?"

"By the sound of the call, yes. What are you doing today in the office?"

"I'm stuck doing paperwork for Rory's case. I am just outlining my interrogation notes and doing some last-minute file corrections. Basically, desk work. I'm sure that on Monday I'll have a new case. This city never really rests for the wicked."

I'm sure he knows all about that. "So, when will I meet Liam?"

"I can see if we can do something this weekend."

"Great." I smile at him. I've been waiting to meet the mysterious Liam. The guy who was so drunk the night that led us to where we are now. I couldn't really make any type of analysis on him when he couldn't even talk. Cordelia comes back and says she has to go to her studio and that one of her assistants pinned something wrong.

"I love you, sis, Archer. It was nice to meet you."

The waiter comes out with the check. "You know she always has a phone call right before the check comes. And she probably makes more money than me."

"You thought you were paying? Not when I'm around." Archer pulls out his card and puts it in with the bill, not even looking at what the dollar amount is.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome," he kisses my cheek. Usually, I don't like showing affection in public, but I have to admit I am swooning that Archer wants to show me love outside of closed doors. "Let's head back to the office."

Chapter Fourteen

Archer

"I'm taking you out tonight," I tell Daphne on the phone. "Wear something fancy and be ready by eight, please."

"Doesn't sound like I have much of a choice."

"You always have a choice. I'm walking into the gym now; I'll see you later. Goodbye, little fox."

"Goodbye, sweet cheeks."

"You're really pulling on my strings, huh?" She giggles and hangs up the phone.

Yesterday was a dull day after the walk back from lunch. I sat at my desk doing paperwork that I know is needed for the case, but it's the most boring shit ever. Yesterday was exhausting doing all that typing and writing. I went home and passed out. But the paperwork is all done. Thank God it's the weekend. I needed a break; I woke up at nine today. That's strange for me; I usually don't or can't sleep in.

I already have plans tonight for Daph. We are going to Nonna's Recipes, a fancy Italian restaurant that's about thirty minutes from us. It overlooks the Potomac River. Beautiful views, especially when the sun sets and it hits the horizon. She'll look stunning in that sun-kissed light. I can't wait to take pictures of her without her knowing. But until then, I have plans at the gym. I haven't had a good workout in a hot minute, and it's about time. I can already feel my muscles depleting. Can't have that happening when you're an agent who is supposed to be in some sort of shape.

I get ready in one of my workout outfits and go downstairs to make my vanilla and banana protein shake. It's one of my favorites to have before the gym. Today, I'm working on my arms to make them look good for tonight. I can't work out too heavily, though, because I have steamy plans for tonight.

Walking out of the gym, I am a sweaty mess. That was the most strenuous workout I think I've ever done. I worked out for about two hours, taking breaks when needed and eating my workout
