“So, I was just supposed to greet you with open arms in the conference room?” The other girl she’s with stares at her. Good, at least she hasn’t told anyone what went down in that room. I finally look at her and genuinely wish I didn’t come out tonight. She looks phenomenal; her hair looks freshly done from this morning. She has on a black skin-tight dress that is making my cock twitch. I look up, and her eyes scan mine like she can tell what’s going on in my mind.

“You can always take a picture if you like what you see.” She quips. I think about tearing that dress straight off of her. Right in front of everyone. Although I wouldn’t want anyone to see what is someday going to be mine.

“Listen, I am sorry about this morning. It was out of pocket.”

Well, I have to start somewhere with my apology.

“What happened earlier?” The blonde asks as she stares at Daphne with wonder.

“Nothing happened, Cor.”

“Well, I wouldn’t say nothing,” Liam shouts at us. Daphne looks at me with murder in her eyes.

“You told someone? What did you say exactly that you sexually harassed me in a conference room?”

“Sexually harassed?” The blonde asks, looking at me with more disgust than interest.

“It was a kiss Daph.”

“Unwarranted, and it is Daphne to you. Now, if you would excuse me and my sister, I need to go meet someone more my type.” She pushes past me, and the woman, her sister, I guess, follows her to the VIP section. I sit back down next to Liam, knowing I’m not going to be leaving until she does.

“Man, she’s really got you wrapped around her finger, huh?”

I look at Liam, about ready to punch him in the face.

“Please leave it alone, Liam. It is none of your business, and frankly, I shouldn’t have told you what happened in the conference room.”

“Aw, come on, Arch, you needed me to tell you to get your head straight and make it up to your girl.”

“Not my girl.” I shake my head, knowing that she will probably never be truly my girl. I lean against the bar. Searching for pink in the crowd. The music just starting to get loud. I would say that Blaires is an exquisite bar. But that might be because it hasn’t gotten dirty yet. The whole ceiling is a mirror over the dance floor; flashing lights sprout from the corners of the room. Everywhere I look, a woman looks up and motions for me to join them on the dance floor. No, thank you. I still haven’t found the only one that I would leave this bar for.

“Would you like another, sir?” I turn around to face the bartender. He’s a guy that looks way too young to be serving alcohol.

“No, I think I had enough for tonight, and my friend here definitely has had enough, so please cut him off.” Liam lifts his head up.

“Arch, the night is still young, and I still haven’t found someone to go home with. Let me just have some single fun.” He gives me the puppy eyes.

“Sorry, but I’m a good friend, and that means getting you home safely. We wouldn’t want my lovely lady trying to figure out what happened, now would we?”

“Fine. But you owe me.”

“You can tell me that you owe me tomorrow when you don’t wake up next to a regret.” I look down at my phone and finally see the notification that the ride is here. I hoist him up and walk him out to the Uber. I help him into the Nissan.

“Good luck getting this one home,” I say as I hand the driver a fifty. In the backseat, Liam says drunkenly, “See you at the boxing match next week, Arch.” Code for the job we will be doing next week. I’m surprised he remembers what the code word is.

As I head back inside, I notice pink in the distance and see her dancing with some asshole. My blood starts to boil. I’m going to be punching someone sooner than I anticipated.

Daphne

I know he’s staring at me. I can feel his eyes trained on my hips as I grind against this guy. I forgot his name, but I am definitely going home with him tonight. He’s tall, dark, and handsome. He’s also got a smile that would charm a grandma. I forgot his name, though. Maybe Raven? Robin? I don’t know, and I don’t care. All I care about is whether or not he knows how to make a girl come right. Although I don’t know how to get rid of Archer from staring point-blank at me. Doesn’t he know when a girl just wants sex? I look up at the guy that I’m grinding against. This guy knows casual sex and what a one-night stand is. Archer would be the type to beg to stay the morning and make breakfast and coffee.

The music starts getting more erratic, but my hips don’t stop moving. I’m about to turn around to make out with this guy when I’m pulled back, and a fist goes into the guy’s face.

“What the actual fuck?” I scream as Archer completely knocks the guy out. “What was that for?”

“He touched you.” Archer looks at me like he’s still mad, only at me.

“Listen, I wanted to be touched by him. I do not want to be touched by you. What don’t you understand?”
