"You are always beautiful."

"I shouldn't have asked you. You're obligated to say that because we're together. I'll ask a nurse."

"Wouldn't they be obligated to say yes because you are their patient?" She rolls her eyes at me. I'm glad we can go back to the playfulness that we once had. I'm so happy that she is feeling a little bit of normalcy after that.

"Shush up. Can you tell me if I look presentable enough to be seen by my sister? Be truthful, please."

"Yes, you only have a few tangles in your hair. But they aren't as noticeable if she keeps her distance."

"You are simply unbearable." She combed her hair again, trying to cut down the number of tangles that were in it. My phone buzzes, and it's Nisa.

Nisa: She ready for some company? I couldn't keep her away for much longer.

Me: Yes, she's been stressing all morning waiting to see you both.

Nisa: Okay, we are coming up.

"Nisa and Cordelia are coming up. You ready?"

"Yes."

"Daph, you can't say anything about what happened in the warehouse. Not yet."

She looks at me stunned. "Okay, I won't."

I hope she doesn't hate me for this. Please don't hate me for this. Before I can tell her that Cordelia comes in. Basically, it's running in. She flies to her sister's side, immediately starting to cry.

"Oh, Daph, I missed you so much."

"Cor." Daphne starts crying too. Immediately taking her outstretched hand. Cordelia starts to inspect her sister's face and hand.

Nisa walks in a few minutes later. She looks at the two sisters being reunited and turns to me. Her head nods in the direction of the door. Oh boy. I tell Daphne that I'm stepping out to talk to Nisa. She just nods, wholly lost in seeing her sister.

Following Nisa, we walk a little bit down the hall.

"Whatever happened again, I do not want to know. Just tell me with a yes or no. Is the mess cleaned up?"

"Yes, everything is cleaned up. Don't worry about it."

"Does she know?"

"I just briefly told her. I'll inform her more before the detectives come to question her."

"You have about three hours to do so. I couldn't keep holding them off. I'm sorry. But Archer, if you ever put me in this position again, your job is forfeit."

"I completely understand boss. I won't let it happen again." My mind flooded with all the jobs that Liam and I had to use force to survive. All the bodies that I have notched. She will never find out about those.

"Now, how is she doing? I know she'll tell us she's fine, but truly, how is she?"

"I think she's going to be okay. One day, not for a long time, but she will be."

"Does she need time from work? How long? I'll put it in tonight for however long."

"I think she would break more if we took away the one thing

she loves to do. I think she'll want to go back as soon as possible. She wouldn't be able to just sit at home thinking."

"That's what I was afraid of. Well, I'll talk to her to at least take a few days before she tries coming back to the office. When is she being discharged?"
