“That will take us farther way from the Circus,” I said.

“If we were able-bodied, then it would be easy enough for just the four of us to pick up the cars and move them to the side of the road,” Truth said.
“We don’t have to pick them up, just move them out of our way,” I said. “Maybe I can help with that?”

“I’ll put on my badge and the U.S. Marshal windbreaker and tell them it’s imperative we get to a crime scene.”
“Let’s start with that,” Nicky said, “and if they still won’t move their cars, then we push them out of the way.”

“Why did you need a new phone?”
“Monster ate the old one,” he said, and before I could ask what kind of monster, he continued talking. “What the hell is happening in St. Louis?”
