I head towards the door before Axel nudges me. I look at him, and he nods his head towards Ink. I furrow my brows when I see he's still sitting there, lost in his head. I nod at Axel and walk back to the table, sitting next to him and nudging him as I go. He snaps out of it before looking around the table.

"Shit," he mumbles, and I smirk.

"Alright, little brother, what's on your mind?" I can't hide my amusement.

He scowls at me, crossing his arms over his chest. "I don't want to talk about it."

I chuckle and nod my head. "Sophie?"

He scowls harder. "I don't fucking get it. We have a connection; I know she fucking feels it, but she won't give. Leah told me she's a vet, and I've fucking taken Diamond to the practice she works at several fucking times. I even saw her with her 'kind of boyfriend,' and she barely let him touch her. Why the fuck won't she give me a chance?"

Someone from behind starts laughing, and I see Stormy, who decided to stay with us.

Fucking great.

"It's not fucking funny, Dad; out of all the fucking women I feel a major connection with, she wants fuck all to do with me."

I can't help it; my laughter joins Stormy's, and Ink scowls harder.

Shaking my head, I clear my throat. "Okay, so you want her? Then go fucking get her! I never pegged you as a quitter, brother. She thinks you're a player, so prove to her you're not. Stop fucking sulking and be the badass biker we all know and love."

He looks at me with wide eyes, causing me to chuckle before he nods and slaps my back before running out of our chapel, and I chuckle again. I see Stormy smiling at me, and I sigh before getting up. We're having a BBQ that I normally don't participate in, but everyone wants to meet Mel, so I asked her to join us, and now I have a girl to go pick up.

He grabs my arm as I walk past. "Can we talk, son? Please."

I move my arm, his touch burning me, and I shake my head. "You mean, just like I wanted to talk to you growing up, but I got beat for 'lying' instead. I don't think so, Stormy."

He sighs, shaking his head, "You were a troubled child, then a teen blaming your stepmother for your mother not being here."

I just snort and shake my head before walking out without looking back. I fucking wish that was my only problem with the bitch, but it's not, and because of him, I had a traumatic childhood. He didn't even look at me whenever I tried to explain; he shoved me aside repeatedly.

As soon as I get to my bike in the compound parking lot, I climb on as my phone rings. I furrow my brows when I see it's the special forces commander.

"Sir?"

"Sniper"

I sit up straighter as Axel comes over to me to see what's up after seeing my reaction, shit. I put the phone on speaker because his calling me Sniper only means one thing:

"Your team needs your help, Lieutenant."

Axel tenses, and I clear my throat,

"Misson?"

"Traffickers in DC, they're due a pick-up in eight weeks; the teams are scoping the place out; Intel is in deep, too fucking deep to pull out. We need yourexpertise; I know you're retired, and you know I wouldn't ask if we didn't need you."

I sigh and scrub a hand through my hair before looking at my Pres, my best friend, to see he's dropped his chin to his chest.

He nods lightly, knowing I need to help.

I clear my throat again. "Send me the details through Budgie."

I hear him sigh in relief.

"Will do; thank you, lieutenant," he says before he hangs up.

I look at Axel and see his head still dropped, his whole body tense before I notice a shadow near the door. Stormy stands there with panic in his eyes, which means he heard the phone call. Great.
