I sigh and rub a hand down my face while Axel looks at me with concern.
I look at him, my eyes showing him that I need to get back to the hospital, and he nods.
"Alright, brothers, Cassidy. What do we do about her? David can only keep her missing for so long."
The brothers all scowl at the mention of the bitch's name while Stormy speaks up, "I'll fucking end her if none of the brothers want to hurt a woman. She nearly killed my daughter-in-law."
I look at my father; he's looking at me while the brothers all nod in agreement to end her life, and at this moment, I want to snort. He can kill this bitch, but not the one who molested me.
I shake my head, and I clear my throat. "My woman. She'll want to show compassion. When she thought she'd killed her, the look in her eyes said, "I shake my head again, "We need to go by the law with this one." Stormy goes to say something, but I just put my hand up and said, "Get her into the state jail and have one of the women we have in there sort her out. At least then my woman stays guilt-free because if she goes 'missing,' she'll believe she killed her, and it would completely destroy her."
Stormy grins and nods while Axel stands, "All in favor."
Every man bangs the table once before shouting 'AYE' when Doc's pager goes off. None of us think anything of it until he stands suddenly, his chair falling over as he looks at me, and I tense.
Panic enters my body.
"she's awake."
The air leaves my lungs as everyone freezes.
Awake.
She's finally awake.
I quickly snap out of it and jump from my seat, running towards the door.
All the brothers in the main room stand and stare at us as we rush out of church. Axel shouts behind me on our way out, "SHE'S AWAKE," causing every chair to scrape. I don't wait for anyone as I jump on my bike with Axel behind me to the hospital.
It takes me less than ten minutes to get to the hospital before I rush into the doors towards the stairs, refusing to wait for the lift. Axel and Doc are behind me as I run into Mel's room, slamming the door open and making Sophie jump. She grins when she sees me, but my eyes lock on the ones I've missed.
Fuck.
Tears shine through my eyes as they fall down my cheeks.
I bend forward, placing my hands on my knees as a sob breaks through my throat.
She's awake. She's really awake.
Doc goes around me and rushes towards her before looking around the room with furrowed brows. Axel and Slicer stand beside me, placing a hand on either shoulder, making me tense. They squeeze, knowing my discomfort, but refuse to let me go, knowing I'll end up on my ass otherwise.
"Where's Meghan?"
Sophie smiles sadly while my girl has a tear falling down her cheek and her eyes on mine.
It gets my ass moving, and I walk towards her, grabbing her hand before squeezing it tight while rubbing her tear away with my other hand.
"She, uh, she went to go collect Lilah, and well, she's still struggling."
Sophie struggles to get her words out as Ink walks in and heads straight for her.
She goes into his arms willingly as she explains.
I sigh and slowly close my eyes before I lean forward and gently kiss my girl's forehead, mindful of the tube, while Doc does his checks. Meghan's held guilt over the incident ever since it happened. I hope my girl doesn't lose her friend over it because she's already distanced herself from her. She's barely been in here and hasn't been around us much since.
I fucking called it two months ago.
