Momma…

Chapter 22

Ink

My eyes are wide as my girl rushes out of the clubhouse; I can hear Shane shouting at her.

Fuck.

I turn to Leah, and she just shakes her head.

"I'm not mad; let's go find our girl."

I nod as she rushes past me, pushing Gunner's arm away from her as he tries to grab her, making him curse before he, Axel, Dad, Doc, and Dagger all follow us out. We quickly climb onto the bikes, Leah climbing into the van with our prospect Cal, causing Gunner to scowl at her before we spin out of the clubhouse parking lot.

I take the front in the formation, knowing where she'll most likely go.

The one place where her family is.

It doesn't take us long to reach the cemetery, and in the distance, I see Sophie kneeling at her momma's grave, screaming in pain.

Fuck.

"SOPHIE"

I hear Leah shout as I start to rush towards the gates. I try to open them, but they're bolted, and I begin to rattle them until I hear her scream out in pain again, making my heart stop.

"PLEASE COME BACK, PLEASEEE…."

Fuck it, I start to climb the gate. Leah is next to me while Gunner tries to get her down as Dad finds a pair of bolt cutters.

"PIXIE!"

I shout, but she doesn't hear me, her painful wails echoing through the quiet evening. Both Leah and I land on the ground as we hear her scream again, this time coming out breathless. No, no, no.

"P-PLEASE COME-COME B-BACK, P-P-PLEASE…"

I sprint up the hill towards her with Leah hot on my heels and Gunner on hers as the rest try to open the gate.

We watch in horror as she falls face first next to her mother's grave, and my heart stops as Leah screams out, and the brothers who somehow managed to get the gate open all shout her name.

I ran faster, my heart in my throat, before I skidded right next to her, taking her carefully into my arms and moving her hair out of her face. Her lips aren't blue, and I hold my breath while Doc skids next to me, checking her over.

He nods. "She's passed out from a panic attack, and she's severely dehydrated. We need to get her back to the clubhouse, or your house at least, so I can insert an IV." He breathes deeply while the other brothers and Leah sigh in relief while I nod. I look towards Shane and say, "Drive my bike back to the club; take it to my house." He nods, and I look towards Leah and ask, "Can you drive the van back if I sit with her on my lap in the passenger seat?"

She has tears running down her face, which she quickly wipes away with the back of her hands before nodding.

Brave girl.

Gunner places his hand around her waist, but she knocks him back, making him swallow hard before looking down. I look back towards my girl and see that her breathing is normal, making me relax a little bit before looking at her mother's grave.

I nod, confirming my words to her last week, "I promise," I whisper before gently standing with Sophie in my arms. Dagger and Axel help me before we go down the hill back to our bikes.

I need to get my girl home.

Axel helps me get in the van while Leah takes the driver's seat before Gunner quickly catches the door, looking at her, willing her to look at him, but she doesn't.

"The clutch sticks, so be careful, Angel."
