I sigh and squeeze my sore arm after I’ve been resting on it. Am I a toy to him? Maybe this is worse than getting kidnapped by another human.

Well, I haven’t been kidnapped that way, so that’s hard to know which is better.

I pull the cape and wrap it closer around my body. I’m still in my bikini after all, and that’s not the proper clothes here.

This room is cold, and the walls seem to be laughing at me. I can’t flee from this place and I don’t know who I can trust.

There is a knock at the door. I’m too tired to care and too tired to say a thing. If Iechon wants to come in, he’ll just do that. I thought he knew I want to be on my own, guess not.

It quiets down for a bit before a rapid knocking comes again. “Are you fine inside there? Zoe? Fell asleep?” It is Iechon.

There is a nudge in my stomach. Part of me, strangely, wants him to be here and wants him to hold me in his arms. When I flirted with him, he wasn’t that annoying. The hair behind my neck stands and shivers. Iechon isn’t a human, I didn’t realize until… So...

Maybe that’s the reason for the load on my chest. Something feels wrong.

“Zoe!” Iechon is shouting outside when he should be able to come inside.

I sigh. What’s his plan now?

“Come inside.”

The door slides open and he runs in with big strides. “Are you fine?”

He is confusing.

I nod. “Yes, I’m fine. I thought you’ll come in on your own.”

He scratches his head. “Well, I figured I should ask you about that.” He clicks his tongue but says nothing more. It doesn’t sound like he wants to ask me, but he did.

I lift an eyebrow at him. “I think I get nervous when I figured out you are actually an alien and not a human.”

He lifts his hand as if he is going to say something that will involve his gestures, but he soon puts his hand to his side and sits on the chair to my side instead. “What’s to be nervous about?”

I stare at him. Everything? I thought he would be mad at me already, but he seems to be controlling himself.

He reaches for my hand, slowly, so slowly that it feels like he worries that he will break me. This is quite a difference from how he used to be. What changed?

He finally takes my hand in his. “I’m sorry if I’ve scared you. I don’t mean to. Maybe I should be smarter and know that you and I are very different. You are also different from other humans I’ve met before that are from other planets.”

My heart picks up speed. Part of me is glad that he seems to be understanding, but part of me... It feels like he is trying for something. Is that... He figured that he has to switch tactics to make me his mate?

There is warmth inside me when he is a lot gentler. It probably goes against his nature, but he is trying.

He wraps his arm around me and pulls me to him. “I think you have questions. Maybe you should ask those.”

I frown. Maybe he is trying to be nice, but I’m not sure how long that will last.

He waits for a moment, but within seconds, he holds my hand and pecks a kiss on the back of my hand. “Don’t worry. I’m not going to get mad and I’m going to be patient.”

Well...

I snuggle to him, resting my ear on his chest. I can feel the vibration of his heartbeat and it warms me more than it should. I squeeze his thigh. “This is actually kuqnil flesh and not human with green paint all over it or something strange.”

He sucks in a deep breath. I grimace. So much for saying he won’t get mad. Maybe I shouldn’t say that when I’m pretty confident that he isn’t a human, but... Somehow, I feel the need to reconfirm that. When I used to hurry to save lives, I made sure to ask for clarification so everyone was on the same page.

He sighs. “Yes, maybe I have some features that look like a human, but I’m not a human.” He leans close to my ear. “When you feel my cock in you, that’s a hundred percent a kuqnil cock, nothing human-like.”

My breath halts and a stream of heat burns my cheek. When I’m staring at his thigh, I can’t miss how his cock twitches. I glance at him. There is a fire in his eyes, which also lights me up.
