I give her my hand. “Come with me? I will show you everything. The ship, my place, and everything I own.”

“And I’m going to walk around naked.”

Oh, hell no. Her naked body is for me alone, so no one else gets to see that. “Don’t worry about that. I will have clothes for you in my place and we won’t meet a single being before I get you clothed.”

She looks at my hand but makes no move to take it. Do humans not do something like that?

“Galene...”

Her gaze flicks to the side again as if I’m not worth looking at. I grit my teeth, resisting the urge to yell at her. Yelling or growling at her won’t help the situation. Maybe I made her come here, but she should understand it by now.

I hiss regardless; that’s the least I can do. “I have to go back to the driving seat soon. Why don’t you come with me? Otherwise, I’ll have to move you alongside the blanket.”

She remains quiet as if she didn’t even hear me.

I click my tongue. “Are you cold?”

“Maybe.”

What does that mean?

She isn’t looking at me. I can only hope she will get out of her mood soon. Silly woman. While she is my mate, that makes her kind of cute, but I’d rather see her smile.

I go to the wardrobe, pressing the button for the door to open. I only have clothes for myself, but maybe there will be something that fits her.

I pick up a T-shirt. It is probably too large for her, but it will hide her curves. I toss it to her alongside a pair of shorts. Maybe those will be long enough to pass as trousers for her.

She picks up the clothes and finally starts dressing. My phone beeps and I pull it to check. It is the spaceship calling. I have to be there to oversee the landing.

I head to the door. “When you are ready, come join me at the dashboard. Get out of the room and turn left, go all the way down the corridor and you will find me behind the door.”

I head to the door and get out of the room. In theory, the system can do the landing, but I’m required to oversee it in order to avoid errors and extra payments for repairing the spaceship. I’m going to sit at the dashboard and pay attention.

Someone should invent a better way, then I won’t have to take my eyes off her.

Chapter 9

Galene

Iputontheclothes he tossed me, swearing under my breath. The longer I stay, the more I hate this place. This spaceship probably cost a lot, but for me, this is just a jail.

I put on my bikini and move on to put on his T-shirt, which is too large for me. I suck in a breath to calm myself, but all I get is his scent. My cheek burns at that. I hate how I can’t shake his naked body out of my mind.

Why must I care about him?

I fold my arms after I put on the trousers. It should be a pair of shorts for him, but a bit too long for me. While he said that we won’t run into anyone else, I don’t want to take the risk. I don’t even want to be seen in a bikini.

Fuck...

He said that I’m his mate, but why would he want me? Maybe that’s just like what I’ve thought, it is just a game for when we fuck around. He could have been with someone else. Someone his species, or someone who looks better than me.

I get off the bed. I’ll have to join him at the dashboard if I don’t want to have a huge purple alien shouting at my face again. He just wants to do whatever he wants to.

He mentioned landing. I’m probably far away from Earth by now. I have nothing with me. There’s no way I can leave and stay alive. I just wish I could go back to Earth. But knowing Vikul, he isn’t going to let that happen.

He wants to show me his stuff, thinking that he is amazing or something, except I don’t even care.
