“Because everyone will stare at you and laugh at your purple ass for being in a Halloween mood before the day is remotely close.”
I don’t know what Halloween is. Maybe it’s a human festival. There aren’t a lot of humans living on this planet, so that’s off my radar. “That. And also, humans on Earth aren’t supposed to know of our existence. Us as in beings outside of Earth.”
She folds her arms and rolls her eyes at that. “Said the one who went to Earth regardless and took me here.”
“Yeah, it is an unspoken rule, but we wait for planets to have the technology to find us, not the other way. I think that’s for us to see what each planet will come up with on its own instead of influencing them with what we have. Otherwise, that’s going to make everything the same and boring. I was on the way to deliver things, but waiting in the space with nothing to do got boring.”
I have no idea whether she understands that or not, but there’s hope she does.
She shrugs. “Still doesn’t tell me what is going to happen if I become your mate.”
I grit my teeth to stop myself from saying that she already is my mate, whether she likes it or not. But I suppose she can refuse to admit it and leave with a piece of my soul with her. “You will stay with me and we will travel together. You can have everything I have and everything you want.”
She watches me with cautious eyes again.
