I blink and shrug. “Nothing? I’m just thinking about where we can go for good food. You seem to be hiding something from me.”
“Oh...” She puts her arms back to her side as if she is trying to hide the fact that she was trying to hide something. “I thought...”
“I’d think you are fat for loving nice food.”
“Yeah...” Her cheek is bright red. “I mean—“
“No, I like your curves and I’d like for my mate to eat with me.”
“My vacation should come first.”

“Are you going to pick what you want for the vacation? Or should I pick for you?”
“You said you have things to deliver. Maybe we should do that first. I don’t want to cause a delay. Your job and your business are important, too.”
I pick her up while she yells and smacks my chest. “I’ll make that fun for you. I know you love to be a tease, but when you agree to be my mate, you won’t regret it. You won’t even think of regretting it.”
